@BenganJ - I wanted to make sure your monitor wasn't doing something strange as it was bordered in vid and not scaled to available area. Still it was actual 1440x900 on your panel so should have looked good. All full screen resolutions i've tried work ok.
EDIT: But blur if not native.

@JHTrucker

So, can you explain why I got this result?
1920x1080 16:9 Perfect AA
1440:900 16:10 Lousy AA
1280x1024 5:4 Probably full AA
1280x720 16:9 Probably full AA

@BenganJ - No.
But as a test, if you're in the mood, change your UI in mmcfg to width 0.8 and try game 1440x900.
The world map / adviser etc use that res and perhaps they clash?

EDIT: Try 1280x800 16:10 as it's the same aspect ratio.

@JHTrucker

Sorry, took some time as ATS got an update!
Changed to:

Code: Select all

 normalized_ui_x: 0.1
 normalized_ui_width: 0.8
Video says it all:

@BenganJ - So perhaps Pancreas could set DSR to first available increased res. Set that as desktop res and then set that in game to test?
Keeping desktop at DSR value lets game use that res each time you load it, otherwise game defaults to native res even though it still displays DSR res in settings...

Off topic: I think scs does this beta testing all wrong. Make the beta as a free game for all players that have bought ATS, ATS-Beta. You can then play with the new stuff, report bugs, complain etc and then just go back to playing the current public version without having to download back and forward all the time. Update bug fixes, time to try beta again...
Your game profile isn't affected. Once public, they can then disable the beta until the next update.

@BenganJ - Bigger than 1440x900 Or 1280x800x3 and if that shows AA add sharpness / -LOD?
But he went to check 4k monitor but came back with multi results.
One monitor, not 1440x900, would be best as a test to prove that the settings he's used do in fact work and it's still not a setup issue.
Time to go for now...

@Phrosperatus

Interesting stuff! Welcome BTW! :D I think I'll have to digest what you say a bit,
but I have a question directly. Doesn't the normal way of using NPI 1/2 refresh
rate work for you? And 30 Hz is when dealing with the kind of information there
is in these games at the limit of usable. In the DX9 days a lot of people set their
Frame Rate Limiter value to 45. Have you tested what I in Note 3 in first post
call "poor mans adaptive sync"?
