Now my game ATS with 1.50 update don't start. :sarcastic_hand: Maybe I'll have to switch to Windows 10. :scratch_one-s_head:

Game failing to start... maybe if you have been using the TAA plugin, remove it.

I doubt win10 is a requirement as those updated system requirements should have stated that. I only swapped to win10 in case steam shut me out...
I'll test 1.50 once it's a proper release.

Aftet 1.50 update my rubber banding is back and i cant beat that with any previous solution. On 1.49 i have „360” value in window lenght and it works.

Try Borderless Gaming. It helped for me.

Hello fellow truckers. I know most of you probably play on Windows. I am currently playing on Linux with Proton compatibility (the native Linux client gave me huge FPS drops on cities, while DX version with compatibility worked exactly the same as Windows). I can't find the files mentioned to configure (global config.cfg etc) - but as someone said above, that solution didn't work for them on 1.50. We're on 1.53 with Winterland event ON right now (December 17th, 2024) - I got the rubberbanding effect problem as well. Doesn't happen consistently as shown in some videos, but it happens here and there enough to notice. So clearly the issue is still there/comes back. It's to note that I just press "play" on Steam (play ATS) NOT the "DX11" version - So seeing as we're past 1.50 version of the game, perhaps that is DX12 now? Otherwise is still DX11 and in that case the issue is the same as always.
I did not have any issues at all before the Winterlands update.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I always play with VSYNC off - if you set your Vysnc off and get tearing, you need to lower the max FPS. My monitor is 75Hz, so I set anywhere 65-72 FPS and is not only stable due to less work for the machine, it also does not have any tearing. So the solution being to turn OFF vsync is off the table, as well as adjusting that file for the Vsync "scheduler" wouldn't be useful as I have it off.

@laubeq - The game is still DX11.

I'm on window 10 and by default the game creates an "American Truck Simulator" folder in your documents folder.

Documents \ American Truck Simulator \ Profiles \ Your Profile Name (in Hex) \ config.cfg <-- This is profile specific settings (game play etc)
Documents \ American Truck Simulator \ config.cfg <-- *** This is the "Global config.cfg" ***
Documents \ American Truck Simulator \ game.log.txt

I'd assume Linux has some ATS game folder also, that isn't in the steam folder.

I've long since stopped trying to play the lastest game versions on my old hardware and instead just play 1.41...

But, for 1.50+, these are seemingly the ones to make changes to:

r_buffer_page_size "30"
t_averaging_window_duration "120"
t_averaging_window_length "120"
