Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@t2patel
I think the main reason why people want higher FPS is so they can have smoother gameplay. But I'm fine with 30 FPS. With a constant 30 FPS, I get no stutter and screen tearing.

@JHTrucker
I tried out the suggestions regarding AA in VR, but so far I have had no luck getting it to work.
A few comments to the info you gave me:
" 00:00:00.599 : uset r_ipd_scale "1.0" <--- that's new for vr only? "
I believe 'ipd_scale' refers to 'inter-pupilary distance'. It allows you to adjust the geometry of the 3D rendering to correct for the distance between your eyes.
" quick test, set LOD bias to +2.000 and you should get a blurred vr image.
--- Texture filtering - Driver Controlled LOD Bias -- 'Off'
--- Texture filtering - LOD Bias (DX) ----------------- '+2.000' <---PLUS 2
If that has no affect on the vr image then that's it, NPI settings not used in vr."
I did the test, setting LOD Bias (DX) to +2.000 blurs the textures, so it does have an effect.
I tried setting a few different scales as suggested.
The suggested rendering resolution is 2228x2632 per eye, so I think the total resolution is 2228x5264 (the Pimax is a wide FOV headset).
So I also tried uset r_scale_y "0.41033" / uset r_scale_x "1.72351"
Also tried a dual monitor setup.
But so far no AA, I think my next step will be to write the developers an angry email, then they will surely correct the problem immediately

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@a1337cookie - You'll get AA across the whole area as long as you use the triple file without removing my special edits, 4th & 5th monitors.
You are happily still get 60 fps... but that will change very quickly to ~30 at 2xAA and ~15 at 4xAA at your massive resolution.
@everyone talking about 30fps.
30 fps is about having smooth motion but with enough gpu power left over that when you enter a more demanding area the fps don't drop or stutter as the gpu can just increase % to maintain 30 fps.
If you can't maintain 60 then you get constant drops/stutters... so it's better, for me since 2014, to use 30 fps.
Then you can increase any gfx settings that you may have reduced when trying and failing to run at 60. Result, looks better than 60 but will never be as smooth, motion wise, as 60.

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@sikjar - Lets assume steps 1 & 3 do work for VR and it's just that the AA bit isn't correct as the game renders vr in a different way to standard 2D. I'm sure it won't even look at the multimon file, why would it? It'll be hard coded for all vr sets as 2 images, i guess.
The trick would then be to provoke a reaction by randomly using different AA bits... there's a lot to choose from.
If it works you'll see things like missing truck interior/landscape and generally things not looking right as the AA bit messes with the render pipeline. Finding the one that enables AA will be beyond annoying.
Here's a thought, what fps do you get in vr? Are you willing to have much lower fps in order to have AA? If not, then you don't need to waste time looking for the AA bit.
If DX12 is being worked on then hopefully they'll consider adding proper AA this time for those of you with DX12 gpu's... of which, i'm not one.

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Hello everyone,
I've been having trouble getting the settings right.
Can you help me?
What do you need from me?
Thank you in advance

@DedaToro
Getting the settings right? Two questions!
1. Which graphics card do you have?
2. Did you do Step 1-3, then checked if you got proper AA?

So, what's the problem then?
