[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@Strega
Good to hear that this scheme works for you. BUT, I can tell you that the setting for Ambien Occlusion (AO) you say you changed
has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING, as by default the AO is DISABLED! I think that maybe the gamma setting did some change for
you. BTW, as AO does not work as designed with this scheme you should also see to that SSAO in the game settings are Disabled.
Thanks for your report though, it is always nice to hear how people experience this NPI scheme.

@BenganJ
I know ambient occlusion is disabled, I didn't think it should or would do anything but it does (on my system). I changed the gamma setting AFTER the occlusion setting. Traveling east in the afternoon or west in the morning the sun causes too much bloom on the signs IMHO. SSAO has always been disabled for me, I never tried it based on what was said here.
Thanks again for all your and everyone else's help with this scheme!

You're so welcome and the main thing is how you experience the graphics and smoothness in the game!

I have to say too that Strega is not all wrong. I don't have the sign blur or tail light bloom. That's why i never know exactly what Problem everyone was having only thing different to first page by me is that i never changed the Ambient Occlusion compatibility. And not related that i use Maximum pre rendered frames at 3 even with gsync.

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Has someone tested the "sun shadow cascades" option in the console? Seems like a interesting way of creating shadows in the game, don't know if it really works, I don't really see a difference...

I think I've tested all possible alternatives in those new menus in console, but
as they are aimed at debugging mostly, they have very odd results. I'll have a
look at that one once again. BRB!
EDIT: On a bright sunny day there's NO difference at all activating it!

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Was asking because it's a technic used in more decent game engines for better shadows, less flickering and also performance...
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@black-coffee
Well, maybe it's a feature belonging to the SSAO code in the engine and as that
doesn't work together with this AA scheme, that's why we don't get any difference.

@BenganJ - If you haven't already spotted this...
In ETS2 config, but not in my ATS (yet?), we have:
r_drr_strength "8.0" <-- set to "0" to sharpen.
Use the console to change back and forth from 0 & 8 and you'll see what changes in the image.
