Old game engine, very old. I wonder how long they can keep it going. I mean SSAO was introduced back in 2009 with Crysis I think.
With the current pace of state releases for ATS it will take them at least 10 years to get them done. That would be a 20 year old engine then, updated but still... This is not a good outlook.

That's the weird decisions we were talking about the day before. SSAO and SMAA..

@yiannis

Yes, I really don't understand that, changing from one lousy MLAA to another lousy SMAA! BAH!

The game on startup looks at the max monitor res and defaults to that if the in game res is bigger.
Make the desktop the same size as your in game res and that's it done for this game. Bug, yes, but don't wait for scs to fix it... it's been like this since DSR came out.
The Q&A section has the DSR info.

@yiannis

Well, I use both, getting a bit of extra AA from DSR on top of NPI "hack"!

But if you use DSR on a 1080p monitor, you must use 4K. The other resolutions create some blurriness, but 4K scales perfectly. But 4X AA in inspector and 4K resolution I don't think my 2060 will cope..
