@Sansemiano

Exactly, if I were you, and this is my personal opinion now, I would disable that
V3 limiter, and get rid of the Force V-Sync setting you have and just set in the
config.cfg file r_vsync to "2" to get a all time steady 60 FPS. I have 30 FPS and
it's smooth as hell, you seldom need very high FPS in this game.

EDIT: Is this your monitor? If so, as far as I can see it's a 144Hz one, or .....?

And just because it has got AMD Freesync does NOT mean it has G-Sync
compatibility, which is what you need with a Nvidia card!

Most of the time the FPS is about 100. It als depends on other graphics settings. Spend a lot of time tuning the game graphic settings. Backing of of ultra/high settings in some cases, cause the difference between ultra/high and one step lower often is hardly noticeable on the screen but all the more in the fps.

I know you are a 30 fps warrior and I did tests with your suggestions in these, but sticking to the freesync feature is better imho. The game runs very smooth on my system.

I did try tests with capping at 30 of 60 fps, but then panning with the camera from left to right with the Tobii headtracker becomes very stuttery. Not with freesync and 115 fps.

Edit: It's indeed a 144 Hz monitor, but at that speed the colors are less good. I did one step back and that works better.

@Sansemiano

Sure, you are the one that should be satisfied with the result. And if you are now,
stick to it for heavens sake! I can't see the result on your monitor, not even through
a video properly!

Not official Gsync compatibility, but it is recognized as Gsync compatible by the nVidia driver. Works fine. No problems in that field.

@Sansemiano

Then no problem, that's the point, if it works, use it!

@Sansemiano "I did try tests with capping at 30 of 60 fps, but then panning with the camera from left to right with the Tobii headtracker becomes very stuttery. Not with freesync and 115 fps."

Capping at 30 is not the same as vsync=2 in config.cfg (30 fps for me) or in your case vsync=3 in config.cfg (48 fps). No fps limit required.
I have a trackir 3 and have never had stuttering left/right with 30 fps. Maybe it's a Tobii thing?

My advise: Set max settings you can and then set vsync to 2 or 3. Then forget about high fps and fiddling with gfx setting and enjoy the drive.
But if you're happy as you are, feel free to ignore!

Ok, thanks. I did follow your advice on Gsync/Freesync earlier in this thread, but now this advice gets updated? Abandon FreeSync?

I can't comment on freesync/gsync as i don't have them.
But note 3 on first post gives the "options" and for me using a vsync value is the best way to go.

Sorry, just checked: the Gsync/Freesync advice is from Roadrunner. Anyway: there is no vsync parameter in config.cfg. You mean r_vsync? Currently that is at "0" in my system.

What should i do in your recipe? Switch off freesync in the driver and the monitor? And then set r_vsync to 2 or 3?

Just tried r_vsync="2" and it makes no difference. The game keeps running at much higher fps.
