@JHTrucker

Oh, I raised my FOV from 55 to 80, no problem, but what I wonder is,
will the LOD change be done further away from me? Is that the result
to be expected? Vegetation LOD changes I already change in game_data.sii!
As they are procedural objects, their config is done there.

@BenganJ - Hopefully further away, hence the test!
It's a multiplier, i think. Everything in view has increased range 50% should really be 150% i suppose.

@JHTrucker

As I said, in game_data.sii there's LOD change config for trees and grass, vegetation.
But later I will do some comparisons and record videos driving the same route, all to
be able to see if there's some difference! BTW, the game_data.sii stuff is documented
already in the first post, it was written there even before we came up with any real AA!

@BenganJ - You can change LOD for people, traffic & trees but not buildings, fences, signs, lamp posts etc.
If you have a building you know of that has a flickering window texture, does this stop it?
That sort of thing.

All object LOD's should be multiplied.

@JHTrucker

I know all that and I have it written down in the first post, all that kind
of LOD changes configs! So, before we quit for tonight, what do you think
this multimon_config.sii close zoom scheme will add to that?

@BenganJ - Close zoom was probably the wrong name to choose.
When i said " You can change LOD for people, traffic & trees" i meant you, i know you can and have, i wasn't trying to tell you something new.

But i'm talking about the whole image, all objects not just the ones you've increased.
The things that flicker, do they still flicker?

I can't watch videos on my connection so don't do them for me.
I'll drive some more tomorrow to test further and perhaps pick a place where there's improvement or not as the case may be.

@JHTrucker

Okay, then I will know what to look for later when continuing testing, but
my first response to that was, that now when I tested, the flickering railings
windows on houses, lowest part of box-trailers and so on was still there.
You'll get a more thorough response tomorrow! Gotta go for now! Sleep tight!

EDIT: Nope, sadly I can't see any difference at all. I have run the same route
with both my original and with the 50% version. And I still have a very hard
time seeing why it should have any such impact. Looking at the game world
as a 3D arena which is rendered through a view-port will not make the object
distances any different with the two files and the LOD changes, aren't they
determined by the distance from the eye position? Maybe someone else can
test and give me a plausible explanation of this?

I can buy, that FOV settings of any kind, seen from the cabin, definitely will
change the experienced "distance", it's why I always change my FOV to 50,
as that is, according to Max at SCS, the one that will get you the optimal
and best experience of the speed. That then ought to give you some sort
of proper experience of distance too. This is NOT real distance in 3D world
though!

@clear F1

You have in NPI Vertical Sync set to Force on, it should be Use the 3D application setting.
Make that change and see if the OSD FPS display now will show 30 instead!
