I think you guys are wrong about Naturalux, if you have at least 16GB RAM and a SSD drive, this mod doesn't cause any significant frame drops, I would say under 5FPS, much less than Reshade for example which from my experience depending on the filters and effects you are using, accounts for 10+ FPS drop. And yes, the traffic mods are creating a big bottleneck, probably yet another weakness of the game engine not able to use multi threading.

Tests on resolution 3440x1440. May not apply to your configuration.


No AA

AA [2x Multisampling] + 2x Sparse Grid Supersampling'

AA [4x Multisampling] 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling

VRAM usage: 3373 MB

This mode if initiated should have killed the performance, but is identical to 4x.


So, at least in my case, 8xMS = 4xMS. Also 8xS,16xS,32xS = 4xMS. So basically I have 2 working modes to choose from 2xMS or 4xMS. Anything above that simply is 4xMS.

@BenganJ / spinner66 (scs forum) - I'm only a member here.
Perhaps the game is seeing 7560 X 1440 (because of nvidia surround) and you set 2560 X 1440 which isn't 100% scaling. It's 1/3 of the screen area.
Try disabling nvidia surround and test the single.AA file on your centre monitor only.
Follow all 3 steps exactly and no more until you see AA has applied.

@mgysgtdev - Why not just do like i did years ago... set Vsync 2 (30 FPS) and get used to it. You're not far off that currently anyway. It took an hour of driving to forget that it was only 30 FPS. It's smooth, not 60 fps smooth. It's truck driving, not racing.

Don't take this the wrong way, but aren't you contradicting yourself here?
Earlier you said,
So only supersampling affects the image size output.
meaning that the VRAM would ONLY increase if using 2x2SS and now you
produce evidence that it's MS + SGSS that does it!

I tried your suggestion to use GFE ALT+F1 way of taking a screenshot, but
that resulted in every image having native resolution, 1920x1080, in my
case, no matter what AA setting I used. I will make the same test as you
did this time by using the same overlay display, MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner
if I'm not mistaken!

@BenganJ and anyone else...
Here's an idea i had, thought i'd share it for no reason other than to show it off, it's not something i'd use or need, just thought of it and did it.

Ever been driving down the road thinking what it would be like to have a drones camera view of your truck and trailer? Those tight parking places helpfully displayed on screen while you do the maneuvers.

So here's "Single & Triple.AA.Drone".
Look at the attached low res pic to illustrate what i mean.

This is now rendering 2 images (for single) instead of 1, so FPS may drop!

The only thing that lets it down (apart from the idea!) is that the truck isn't drawn, just its shadow and lights. The trailer is fine. But the view is small enough to not care too much, right?
The reason is, when in cab view (1) the truck outside isn't drawn until you look out of the drivers window. The drone isn't in the cab but the image isn't meant to be used outside either.
The truck camera file has settings for the left/right movements and specifies "outside=false" or "outside=true" at the point through drivers window on wards. Changing all to "outside=true" does then draw the truck, result! no, the interior of the truck is now very low res as it assumes you're now outside looking in. So it is what it is. Quirky / fun / useful? You decide.

I've tried to centre the view on truck and trailer.
Choose the file that best suits your current FOV otherwise the drone view won't be overhead.
These files were setup with 1920x1080. The wider the resolution the wider the drone view becomes.

monitor_config : _Drone.View {
For drone view in bottom left:
normalized_x: 0.000000
normalized_y: 0.000000

For drone view in bottom left of centre monitor on triples:
normalized_x: 0.333333
normalized_y: 0.000000

To play with the size of the view:
normalized_width: 0.075000 (0.0 to 1.0)
normalized_height: 0.150000 (0.0 to 1.0)

Different FOV's require a change to these (hence a few files):
vertical_fov_relative_offset: -2.200000
camera_space_offset: (0.000000, 50.000000, 15.000000)
0.000000 = left/right camera adjust - not needed.
50.00000 = height above truck at FOV 50, lower FOV increase & higher FOV decrease if required.
15.00000 = moves camera down screen thereby pushes truck (shadow) up to the top to allow for trailer in view.

Any better ideas? Remember, truck isn't drawn.

I'm taking this idea seriously, but I'm now trying to twist it a bit further. Right
now I have a mod messing with possible distances for camera 2 and 8, so I can
at the moment switch to camera 2 and get a VERY nice view from a variable
distance, BUT that excludes the cabin view totally, not that fun! I have also
myself messed with the camera 3 for the same reason and that is REALLY more
usable at times, BUT still, no cabin view at the same time.

So, would it be possible for you to make a PURE backwards directed view
imitating an outside camera mounted on the truck back-roof pointing strait
backwards and possible to view at the same time as the cabin view and also
resizable and relocatable by configuration?

i need to set "frame rate limiter V3" to 30fps right?
