Re: Setting used with Naturalux : unable to load new skybox

Post by Enki2020 » March 9th, 2020, 5:21 am

Hey guys,

just tested the setting and it works well except one issue. I tried it with Naturalux which was unable to change a skybox (or to load a new one during weather change to be precise).
Instead of new skybox the whole sky turned red with famous "Texture not found" :D

Is there any solution to combining this AA setting with graphics mod? I dont want poor vanilla set of skyboxes.

Thanks a lot in advance

I set launch options and game was using 11.6gb after a while using multimon 4. I changed multimon back to 2 and Mem usage is now at 2gig after a good while, but i lose AA.

@Enki2020

Sure you can combine this AA scheme with NaturaLux or other graphics mods,
but they have a bigger demand on buffers, so just change to the recommended
ones from NaturaLux, probably changing these two Steam Launch Ottions. As
this scheme isn't compatible with ReShade you can't use that one though. Due
to the wast size of the NL skyboxes at some 85+MB, change like this.

Code: Select all

From:
-mm_max_resource_size 32
To:
-mm_max_resource_size 90
AND

Code: Select all

From:
-mm_pool_size 4000
To:
-mm_pool_size <half available memory size>
Project NEXT-GEN and all the Grimes mods need NO change at all!

@faxoli

So, can you explain WHY you post such different game logs? And, if this is in any
way caused by multimon configurations I will transfer you to the expert and designer
of those in this scheme, JHTrucker. I suspect from what you write, that you've done
something wrong, but we'll see!

@faxoli & BenganJ - I did post some suggestions...

@faxoli & BenganJ
I assume your saying the default game runs ok with our triple AA solution and only crashes when multiplayer is used?
The AA bit is the only non SCS part of this AA solution.
If you have added AO and all the extras, try just with step 1 NPI values to test.
Create a game shortcut on desktop and add the command lines to that instead of in steam?
Just a thought...
Have you just setup triple AA or setup when i first posted version 1 on 19th Feb? It's now version 2 from 23rd Feb with double FPS so follow step 2 if required.
I only run default game ATS/ETS2 in steam offline mode.
==============

@Foxman, if you're reading this... how high is your memory usage on your 1080ti 5760x1200 32gb?

@faxoli Apart from the different pc/gfx cards used.
Looking at your logs, the first is:
00:00:00.788 : uset r_fullscreen "1"
00:00:00.788 : uset r_mode_refresh "144"
00:00:00.788 : uset r_mode_height "1080"
00:00:00.788 : uset r_mode_width "5760"
00:00:00.789 : uset r_vsync "1"
The second is:
00:00:00.747 : uset r_fullscreen "1"
00:00:00.747 : uset r_mode_refresh "99"
00:00:00.747 : uset r_mode_height "1080"
00:00:00.747 : uset r_mode_width "5760"
00:00:00.748 : uset r_vsync "0"

How high do your FPS go?
Have you used NPI Frame limiter to keep them lower than 144 & 99+?
Try 60hz and vsync 1 to see if that has an effect.

But i'd start testing by only using STEP 1 NPI settings and nothing more.
Also, rename config.cfg and let game generate a new one before adding step 3 values.

@JHTrucker

Yes, I noticed that but faxoli won't listen to me either, posting totally different
game logs, so before he starts to behave I can't help in any way either. If he wants
some help, he has to cooperate!

The bottom line from him is that he with mutimon mode 4 gets a memory usage
build-up he won't get with mode 2, but then he lose AA!

@faxoli & BenganJ
To test our Triple AA multimon_config.sii file.
set multimon mode 4
NPI Antialiasing - Mode - 'application control'
You'll lose AA but you'll be using our custom made multimon_config.sii file.
Does memory increase? I don't see how it could.

The only other thing is a corrupt gfx driver somehow when the AA bit is used.
Reinstall the current Nvidia driver making sure to select "clean install" option.
Start again from STEP 1.

@JHTrucker

Right, I have a hard time seeing the multimon config having that consequences!
But, we'll see if he visits us any time soon!

@faxoli & BenganJ
I can confirm there's a memory leak when using my Triple.AA file.
I configured the multi files and checked for AA but didn't drive around as i didn't think there would be an issue, AA was present, job done. I can't use the triple.AA file as it's too taxing for my GTX760, 20ish FPS, hence why i haven't spotted this by now. I use Single.AA and that hasn't got the leak issue.
I've got an idea to try to see if i can fix this but will take a while to test.
For the time being keep FPS capped 60 or lower.
I managed a 45min drive using triple.AA before hitting 7.4gb of my 8gb at vsync2 (30FPS) but was 20's and horrible to drive.
