Re: [WIP]Road to Africa 1.0 by TerraMaps
I don't understand this type of discussion at all. The team is doing a job and would like a small compensation for the effort (in whatever form).
If someone has a problem with it, then they just play on another map or just wait until it is made freely available. Nobody is forced.
What other people do doesn't matter. It's a decision made by the team and everyone has to respect and accept it.

Road to Africa 1.0 will be free when version 1.1. is ready.
And all our other Maps are also free
And we don't understand you remark about other maps?
RoExtended. There is a Paid version with more content
Reforma. The beta versions are Paid and are in beta very long sometimes
C2C. The is SE and Dev version that is Paid.
50United. There is a Patreon version with more content
So if you complain about our change in Policy. You also complain about these other maps.

we need to pay for platforms and other stuff, to stay 15 hours/day to create something, just to provide FOR FREE toys to boys who think thats normal.
we already have FREE options but thats not enough for this people. Shame on us.
PS: we PAY for this forum just to give you an option to say your opinion.

I, Carlos Henrique, nickname Henrique7Alves, agree with everything that Arayas and Olaf said... I even commented here once about it, at the moment I am unable to contribute with the minimum amount to be in the beta (soon enough the guy saying that here is not to vent hahaha), and not even the simplest one, I'm even hoping it takes a while to get out at 1.47 because I wouldn't be able to renew with RoEx which is a map that I love, the quality and the zeal that is put into it both maps have to be watched and cherished by both creators. Hugs to all and a great weekend.

[WIP]A new teaser trailer for Road to Africa (RTAf)
We just uploaded a new teaser for Road to Africa
Enjoy our newest map and TerraMaps flagship.
This is currently exclusively for TerraMaps supporters. Precisely because they have supported us for years and we want to express our enormous appreciation for this.
Especially the road from Chad to Lybia through the sahara shows the talent of our Developer Manager Qule. Enjoy this. But we cannot promise that you will arrive at your destination completely intact. ;)
And do you want to experience this live? Support us and then become a Patreon of TerraMaps:

Re: [WIP]Road to Africa 1.0 by TerraMaps
I don't think it is a small compensation. The reason I asked this question about what costs the TerraMaps team is making, is because of the Gold/Platinum Patreon membership. This means you have to pay a minimum of €11,- per month to play Road to Africa. The cheapest Patreon membership of €5.50 per month is not enough. So, that's why I was curious about why you have to pay quite a high price in order to use this map.fatih301081 wrote: ↑February 24th, 2023, 10:50 amI don't understand this type of discussion at all. Of course you could choose to pay €11,- for once, then stop your Patreon membership, and you can play Road to Africa v1.0. But if you want to play Road to Africa v1.1 you again would have to pay €11,-. This means that if you want to play with the newest updates for Road to Africa you will have to pay €11,- several times. And in the end that can become a lot of money, and that just for one map mod.
Look, I'm not criticizing this forced Gold/Platinum membership. The TerraMaps team has created Road to Africa, and they are free to ask whatever price for their work. For me the price is just way to high, so I have to wait for the free version, which is not a problem at all.
Also, I'm not criticizing the quality of Road to Africa. I've just watched the 2nd trailer and especially Chad looks very, very interesting; it's a totally new way of driving off-road, and I'm really looking forward to it.
But, because the cheapest Patreon membership is not enough in order to play Road to Africa, it just has made me wonder about why Road to Africa is so expensive. That's all.

Sometimes I think. Do people take the effort read????Vinnie Terranova wrote: ↑February 24th, 2023, 7:58 pmI don't think it is a small compensation. The Development versions, The Alpha and Beta versions are only for Gold/Platinum membership.
But the Release version will be available to ALL patreons including basic tier.
So you can get it my paying a (one time fee of €5.50). But we would really appreciate it if you didn't immediately cancel your membership after 1 month. But in the end it is everyone's choice.
But this is the last time I answer questions about the change of our policy.
If you disagree, there are plenty of other free maps to play. Time to move on and enjoy what is coming.
