[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@pdxmark77
Do you get that flickering in daylight too? I'm asking because in the headlight from the truck
at night you'll get a much higher contrast and that might give you some flicker. Otherwise, do
you feel you get proper AA? Maybe a short video in sunny daylight where you have some power
lines to watch, we might see.

@toni1958 - There should be no file corruption/steam update each time.
I run my sim pc in steam offline mode as it only gets connected to the internet when i need to update it.
I never have integrity errors.
Do both games do that for you?
You say... "Everytime I make an adjustment in NPI and save the new nip file to the game exe".
Why am i reading that and thinking you are actually saving the nip to amtruck.exe and therefore replacing the game.exe with your nip file.... how funny would that be?
If above is right, in NPI the game exe is shown top left in profile. This just means that profile is associated to that game exe. You save to nip file somewhere else.
You should manually select verify game integrity in steam to make sure game is correct and then see if you still get the message again.
Anyway, a clean NPI profile with just step 1 is best to start to avoid other settings you may have added that may be causing issues, smoothing/memory settings etc.
One last thing, the 1080 will be huge compared to the 1050 so just ensure it is seated squarely in the motherboard connector.

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
i've noticed a broken AA sience a few days ago, with the same settings i always had. It's about distance lines and also the edges seams to be not so smooth like before.
an example here (far lines)
I've decided to start from scratch, because i am always using a config for playing and other for mapping.
Deleted config, deleted NPI profile, installed new driver (released 2.12) redoned all 3 steps...same result.
Did NPI settings have something new or i am missing something?
here is my config

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
the picture was taken with old driver. In fact all settings are just as the last video i have made.
This is why i upgraded the driver....i am not usualy so fast in updating those if things work fine.
But with new one, nothing changed.

@Arayas
Damn, that doesn't look good at all and I can't see anything odd in the config.cfg either!
Let me check further! Can you on your side check if a degrading of the driver to some
versions back will make a difference?
EDIT: As I'm on a quite old driver myself, on purpose, I will not try to install the newest.
So, to rule out that Nvidia has done something in the latest drivers that ruins our AA scheme,
it would be nice if you could degrade your drive a couple of versions! I haven't got any problem.

@Arayas
Okay, then we can get that out of the way! I'll be back!
EDIT: Would you say that this started after you switched to 1.39 or when you did that?

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
probably i didnt noticed because i dont play the game often or just looking for bugs.
i dont have a problem with near lines, the problem is far or middle far ones
if you dont have the same, i will have to recheck again.

@JHTrucker
Glad I read this before starting,
better get your best laughing hat on and laugh till kingdom come coz I think that is what I am doing.... saving to exe file.
What should I be doing then????????>?????????
Its funny you should say that now coz when I first used NPI I found all the racing games I had installed on the and thought it would be a good idea to use NPI for them too, after saving to ummmmmmm exe file, none of games would work and I had to reinstall the lot OMG
Anyway, I have re installed everything to do with nvidia, reset NPI profiles to default, sorted NCP out and deleted config.cfg files and am just about to start games up to make new files. I will hold off doing anything else in NPI till I hear from you. Do you think I need to reinstall the whole games again from steam coz if I have been saving NPI profiles wrong, that will mean the game exe files are all up the shoot.
If I only save the NPI changes to the profile within NPI itself and then save them elsewhere for a rainy day, how does the game know to use these settings?? Do I need NPI open on the right profile and minimised while I play game or what?
And yes, both games will not play in steam after I have done the slightest change in NPI and saved to exe file(LOL) without verifying and then downloading a file, I am guessing now that all my changes in NPI haven't actually been changing anything coz steam has been downloading the corrupt file again in its "normal" form, without changes???
Card is seated properly, doubled checked when I put in as as you say, it is massive and heavy compared to 1050.
hopefully when you get back on your chair after falling off laughing at what I have done(for the last 3 weeks or so since you have been helping me)perhaps you can give me the dummies guide to NPI lolololol
@BenganJ
yes I did mean LOD set to -2.500, sorry missed the dot out.
Think I have been making a terrible blunder here all this time and probably didn't need new graphics card :-)

Wow, first of all, Steam games will automatically be corrected and you can always within the Steam
interface VALIDATE the game files. Non-Steam games will have to be re-installed though! There's up
in the icon menu one for EXPORT of your NPI profile and another for IMPORT of a NPI profile, that's
how you "save" your profiles. The game knows NOTHING about NPI, what NPI settings do, is to change
Nvidia driver settings and the game will then use them. I hope this will clarify some for you about NPI!

@Arayas
I haven't run v1.39 much at all, started 2 days ago actually, and the question now
after checking a bit here is, has SCS in the preparation of the new lighting scheme
already ruined the AA scheme for us? Please, all of you who use this scheme and also
v1.39 of ATS or ETS2 check if you have lost AA too and report back here!
EDIT: It's when you hit the Apply changes button to the upper right, that the settings
will be saved in the driver.
