@hasteflex

To be honest, with the hardware you have, I would have expected it to be an easy ride for you
to get this going. So, that's why both JHTrucker and I are a bit stunned. Just to fill in with some
info regarding FXAA, that JHTrucker told you to deactivate, it is, and also SMAA, just going to blur
things for you, pretty useless stuff and a big reason why we're doing this.

Before I dive in to your info, two things, first, can you give us the latest global config.cfg and
second, do you have anything using that motherboard Intel graphics, another monitor perhaps,
or maybe you're using it when recording videos?

I thought also this way, especially since I ran NPI settings in previous version ETS2 1.35 without any issue.

Here is the config.cfg file directly from the folder; I had to place it in .zip file as the .cfg file cannot be added as attachment directly

There is nothing running the motherboard graphics and only single monitor setup for this PC; with no video recording at all.

@hasteflex

This is just a wild guess out in the blue, but just to role it out,
can you do this change in config.cfg,

Code: Select all

From:
uset r_nowmi "0"
To:
uset r_nowmi "1"
and then test if that gives you proper AA?

UPDATE: Version 3 AA now available, the below instructions are still correct for V3, just re-download from STEP 2.
For info only: See here for Version 2 AA issue and it's solution V3: viewtopic.php?p=16733#p16733
Note: DUMMY is now called AA.ENABLER.

Double, Triple & Quad setup with my version 2 AA solution.

If you have previously setup triple AA with my first solution and were happy, then you need to change it to this one, version 2 AA, much higher FPS!!!
Check out "Triple AA version 2 link" at the bottom to see the comparison and what changed.

From STEP 2 in the first post, pick the one from it that you need.
You will need to transfer your current (multi monitor setup) multimon_config.sii settings for bezel adjustments etc into my supplied multimon_config.sii file.
Warning: You must keep FOV in all sections applicable (dummy, center, left , right & dash) to match each other.
eg Each instance of "horizontal_fov_override: XX.000000" to your preferred one.

Make sure the multimon_config.sii file is on your game folder (where global config.cfg is).

DONE. Now go back to first post and do STEP 3.

DO NOT remove "Dummy" from mutlimon_config.sii as this is used to force AA, it's full game resolution but isn't rendered.

DO NOT change in game scaling from 100%, you will lose AA, you have been warned.

The attached image is just to illustrate the views and not show AA quality.

PREREQUISITES
Only multimon configurations which are presented to the game as a single big resolution virtual screen are supported. You need to be using either Nvidia Surround or TH2GO.

The large resolution created by nvidia surround or TH2GO is your in game resolution.

For your reference / how this AA solution works / basic setup:-
Triple AA version 1 viewtopic.php?p=15501#p15501
Triple AA version 2 viewtopic.php?p=15753#p15753

Basic bezel adjustments:-
Edit the multimon_config.sii file with notepad to fix the bezels like so:-
These are my settings for 10mm bezels (20mm between images).

name: left.AA
heading_offset: 3.500000 - (4.0 moves closer to center / 3.0 away)

name: right.AA
heading_offset: -3.500000 - (-4.0 moves closer to center / -3.0 away)

See how that looks in game and adjust if required.
You'll only need to be somewhere around 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 & 4 (+left & -right)

@JHTrucker

I got an idea, what do you have to say about that?
You create a new topic in this same forum, "Help! Troubleshooting",
properly named to associate with this topic. Then you design that
first post with the Multimon config instructions. Thereby I can refer
to that topic's first post which you then can keep updated with the
latest info and I will only keep a static link in Step 3 [Multi].

@hasteflex

Are NPI settings working in game?... quick test.
In NPI change "Texture filtering - LOD Bias (DX) '+2.0000" (not -ve)
check game... is it blurry? it should be.
If not, then game .exe isn't associated with NPI profile.

Another test.
Rename config.cfg
start game to generate a new one.
Now make the "basic" changes only - STEP 3.

Antialiasing compatibility (DX1x) Copy and paste from here--> 0x80000A7F - just in case you've got O instead of zero's

Coming from DX9 AA, are you importing your settings into the new driver? or just adding these DX11 ones?
Reset ETS2 profile in NCP to defaults then NPI settings again.

A game log may be helpful?

@BenganJ - Multi monitors are all done now, i can't make them any better, so no further additions to make.
They're all on one page and reference links.

Ultimately, i won't be here that often, prefer virtual driving to actual typing!
Being on the internet isn't an every day thing for me, only since joining in here on the 7th Feb to help fight the cause, has this been out of the ordinary.
Once a week is enough for me to check scs blog etc and now i'll read this thread to see how it's all going.
I'm not saying bye as of right now! But soon...

EDIT: I'll still post in here if i see something i can contribute to.

@BenganJ - You said you have triples but don't like nvidia surround so only use centre screen?
Just a thought:
Assuming you have a desktop 3 monitors wide, you can run triple wide windowed. (That's how i did Quad image, i don't have 4)
3840x540 to keep the right aspect ratio for 4 monitors at 7680x1080.

uset r_fullscreen "0"
uset r_mode_refresh "0"
uset r_mode_height "xxxx"
uset r_mode_width "xxxx" triple width's

And use my triple AA setup.
Basic bezel adjustment is in the version 1 AA post referenced at the bottom of the new "Double, Triple & Quad" post.
