[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@yiannis yeah, i've been having the same problem. i messed around with the settings and increasing "uset r_sun_shadow_texture_size" to "16384" seemed to have helped a decent bit, it is a massive fps hit though.
also, i have a question of my own. every now and then small white glitchy lines pop up in the roads, any idea on wtf that is?

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Hello,
I would like to inquire about a problem I have...
I do not know if it happened with some of you, but I have desactivated VSync into the game graphics (to try something better) even using Nvidia Inspector- it was horrible - and when I have activated again to come back, it stayed the same with no anti alaising at all, impossible to get back to the begging! What happened?
Moreover, searching, I wanted to initialize nvidia inspector and I cancelled by wistake the Ets2 profile into it..... impossible to have the profile back, even when I try to reinstall it! I do not understand why...
So now I have no inspector for ets2 and a VSync not working :) do you have any clues? (in config uset r_vsync "1" of course)
Thank you in advance and have some good trips....

@sicolive - If you have deleted ETS2 profile from inspector then you have deleted it from the nvidia driver. Reinstall driver to get it back.
Inspector is just a different way to see driver settings and show the ones nvidia don't want you see or use.
With no game profile and your global nv inspector settings are 'force vsync off' then ETS2 will be vsync off regardless of game settings.
Global settings are used when there's no game profile.
So, reinstall nvidia driver & do STEP 1 for AA.

Does white lines come from connections in the map, like two roads connected together. Also when the texture the map uses doesn’t fit the object 100% then u get those lines too.mkp04 wrote: ↑July 26th, 2021, 2:11 am@yiannis yeah, i've been having the same problem. i messed around with the settings and increasing "uset r_sun_shadow_texture_size" to "16384" seemed to have helped a decent bit, it is a massive fps hit though.

@JHTrucker thank you very much for your help. I have reinstall driver and the profile is back.
But it seems Vsync is still not working even if it is active in the game profile. I did not amend anything into the config, it is still r_vsync "1"
Since I have tried to desactivate it in the game, I cannot have the same results with inspector anymore?

I just want to leave you a big thanks again for helping me with my triples. I have corrected them here physically, because they were not setted up 100 percent.
With your help, truck simulators make fun again. It's really really fantastic to drive.
With VR it's a bit more fun but with those triple screens, graphics are wonderful.
Thank you!

@sicolive - Vsync options:
NPI global settings - force on/off or App control.
'Force off' will cause all games to have no vsync.
Set to 'App control' if it isn't.
NPI game settings - force on/off or App control.
Set to 'App control' so the game can control it or 'force on' for NPI to control it.
Truck game settings - on/off
Set to on '1' like you have already.
Note:
In NPI, if you have 'tear control - adaptive' then vsync is turned off when your fps drop below vsync level. So if you can't maintain 60fps @ 60HZ when forcing AA then vsync will always be off as your fps are below 60.
Set to 'tear control - standard' but if your fps are below 60 then it'll drop straight to 30fps but will still have vsync on.
EDIT: If you are running in 'windowed mode' then vsync is always off. Tick 'fullscreen' in graphics section.

Yes, they do. Also sometimes I get them in the cab in the seams of the door for example.MrPapaBear wrote: ↑August 1st, 2021, 3:49 pm

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
HI guys. since i transitioned to 1.41, my fps is taking a serious hit from headlamps off my truck. When the lights are off, fps is fine, when i put them on, it tanks and quite noticeable when looking around the cabin. This is not the same outside as its perfectly fine, even with traffic. What can i do to ease this problem? i play at resolution 2560 x 1440 native of my monitor. The game doesn't look so good if i tone down to 1080 and the trade off is absolutely no lag on this resolution but it looks.......bad lol. Im spoiled with 1440. Tried tonig down a few settings in NPI but no dice. Coincidentally i toned a few down in ATS when having the problem and it worked. ETS2 is just a different kettle of fish sadly...
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@hecatonchires - You don't state what your fps are and what they 'tank' to.
Your GTX1080 should be able to use 4xAA @ 60fps 'vsync on' at your resolution.
Remember that interior is also rendering at least 3 visible mirrors whereas external isn't.
As a test:
Drop mirror distance to low to see what impact that has then increase if you can.
All lights project a light beam on to surrounding objects.
Headlights but also indicators, brake lights & reverse lights on your truck and trailer(s) and also the traffic.
When waiting a traffic lights that means there's a lot of light beams being projected all over and as indicators are on/off then those can cause lag or notchy movement when looking around.
In graphics section untick secondary lights. This turns off those beams from your truck and trailer(s) & traffic but not headlights. This is much better but then at night you can't see in your mirrors where the back of the trailer is as the indicators or reverse lights no longer light up the surroundings.
That option needs to be turn off secondary for traffic or turn off secondary for all.
