@yiannis

Nice info, but I can tell you that I have it all, GPU and CPU tuning, even V-Sync 1/2 refresh rate to guarantee that the FPS
is more or less constant, giving the game the possibility to compute frame time over 2 mins to get them frames at even
distances and I REALLY get a VERY smooth experience. BUT still, now I all of a sudden got FPS drops when nearing certain
terrains, woods with lots of trees and bushes and grass. I haven't had that earlier and it happened when ATS/ETS2 got it
latest updates. Something has happened, but I don't know what right now!

Are you guys speaking about locations like the ones from Szeged towards the border checkpoint just when the DLC map begins? That little area with its vegatation gives me massiv problems with fps. (tested with fresh profil and no mods)

@truckpulling92

Nope, didn't had any problems there. Ran with SCS Vanilla plus RoEx27 and Turkey 1A!
That area wasn't that dense that where I get problems.

Hi. I have an oculus rift and followed steps 1-3 using the single monitor and also tried the multi monitor ssi. The AA doesn't work. I wondered if anyone had managed to get this working with a rift and if so, how ?

I don't have a VR setup so can't test anything in that regard.
But if you can answer a few VR questions then we might be able to work something out.
Note: There's been a few people asking this lately and then they never reply again...

1 - Can you see AA on your monitor without VR enabled? So we know that part of the setup is correct and working.

2 - In VR what is the in game resolution? And what is your per eye resolution? Is it halve game resolution?

3 - I assume the multimon file will be ignored. So when you tried the multi instead of single did it look strange? If normal then it was ignored and therefore not used by VR.

EDIT:
4 - In config.cfg:
uset r_manual_stereo_buffer_scale "1.0"
What is your number? Is this the same as in game scaling, 1 same as 100%? Therefore test with "1" as we require 100% scaling for AA to work.

@danilozxf

Are you using 1.36???? Then forget all I said! It was ONLY applicable to v1.38!

EDIT: If this is some problem, FPS drops where there are plenty of trees, I am
starting to wonder if it has something to do with any changes or additions we've
done here lately! Hmmmm!

I used version 1.36 because of the sound mods that I think are better than version 1.37.

I did several tests on versions 1.36, 37 and 38

I disabled the antivirus and programs that run in the background

I removed all mods and still had problems with dropping frames in some places.

I noticed that most places where the problem occurs are full of trees.

I will keep trying to find a solution :moil:

Good, but it is a fact that to high settings for LODs and grass density and such will have a lower FPS as an impact.
But there's also badly optimized areas of maps we ever so often see too! If you find anything specific out, report
back here.

Hi @BenganJ

Well I think I discovered the problem, in this case it is Vsync = 2

I did other tests, tried to activate the frame limit on the rivatuner but the game did not flow smoothly.

So I decided to force it through the nvidia driver, I selected adaptable (half the current rate) and I had very good results, it is not perfect but it is much superior to the previous one

I recorded two videos in the same area as the previous video, the first with good weather and the second in the rain to test the stability and I was happy with the result.

I will look for more places that I had the problem to see if it really solved everywhere.

Do you have suggested routes to do more tests
