TRACKIR Closed window block solutions 1.38 to 1.45 - Updated 12/08/2022
Re: TRACKIR Open/Close window block (possible) solutions.
@JHTrucker
I need some help here. I've had this Logitech Profiler all the time I've had my G27, damn
many years now, and I haven't upgraded from my v5.10.127 dated 14th of June 2010, as
the later ones did not work very well with Supric's FFB plugin, which I have used since start.
I configured it as outlined in the FFB plugin instructions, but NEVER made any profiles. It
has worked damn well in spite of that. Now, when I went to export my present "profile",
that option is ghosted, can't do it. WHY?

Re: TRACKIR Open/Close window block (possible) solutions.
@BenganJ - I'm on that version as well. All i did was pick ATS as a profile and EXPORT to desktop and i got a file ATS.xml.
The same for ETS2. If you don't have any profiles then you can't export.
Create an ATS profile and change the setting for 900deg etc to match you global setting.
EDIT:
If you're concerned about messing up what works well for you in profiler, i'd try option 2 with optional reverse (i'm going to add this bit).
Then you just have one button on your wheel that you can quick press and hold with a spare thumb when unblocking view. When reversing, it'll unblock for you.
This way you control your windows as you do now and open them ready for head movement.
Remember, you may end up like scs and think blocking isn't needed at all.
Because i'm now blocked all the time, i use my mirrors more and only look out if required when reversing. If i'm joining a motorway from a strange angle that the mirrors don't help with, just open window and pop head out when you can.
We've been too used to freely moving our head in and out of the cab for years. By blocking you behave a bit more like a normal driver, only unblock when really required to stick head out.

Re: TRACKIR Open/Close window block (possible) solutions.
Option 1 and it's timing post updated. Now that i've updated my ATS to 1.37 i could actually fully test it, just a tweak on window motion timing was required.
From my quick drive around:
It seems that volume increases greatly the more you open the windows. This means my buttkicker gamer does nothing with the windows closed and then goes into self destruct mode once the windows are open.
So, option 1 lets me set the window at 30% open, blocking my view, and tweak the audio sliders to get a good result. Only opening the windows fully for that quick glance or reversing.
Pressing window open, i get 70%, next press 100%. Press window close, i get 30%, next press closed. Much better, for me, than faffing about with the window buttons (like a volume control) to get the best volume level all the time.
So i go 30% to 100% back to 30%.

Re: TRACKIR Open/Close window block (possible) solutions.
It's on the first post, look at the top, options 1 to 6 are written to give a quick description before going into each option in detail further down. Note, option 6 doesn't require further details.
