No, you don't need it

you don't need it if you don't want a functional ferry there. Otherwise you will have the ferry option but the GPS wont use it.

Exactly what does the file "GS143fix.scs" do? I heard there was reports of crashes in TGS over in/around Aktobe. This has made me a wee bit reluctant to add it back into my map combo for the time being. Doers this file have anything to do with that, or TGS crashes?

Its fixing the licence plates of Great Steppe and the FLD corner definitions (to prevent invisible roads - contained by almost all maps, GS beeing at the bottom of mod manager, it doesnt even matter). The fact people are sure this is the reason for crash its because its trendy to blame Arayas for everything...or Roex. Despite the fact we just had a talk few weeks back about me not making any combo mods whatsoever.
Or the fact we allow map combos to be used by our work.
You cannot do harm if you dont use it. The only funny thing you will notice are the broken licence plates in Kazahstan. If you don't mind that, go ahead.
