I created another new profile and tried to put the Balkans and Macedonia, now after caching if you open the map, the game crashes ..

I have good advice to give. Buy the game on steam and it will certainly solve your problem

pirated version of the game. Get the real game and we will help you the best we
can.

I downloaded the great steppe mod and placed it in the mods folder after creating the game file.
For some reason I don't get the picture associated with the mod , just a generic ETS2 with a black background ??
The game is not crashing but then I haven't driven in the area yet.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Did you extract the zip/rar file? You should have 3 scs files which should be placed in the mod folder.

I'm a bit confused. Why is there a main link and a mirror link for SZM addon? What's the difference between those two links?
