[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@BenganJ,
Can you see if SCS has improved AA just by looking at the screenshots on their latest blog post? Nonetheless, the skyboxes do look amazing!

Photos 5, 17, 19 tell us the AA is the same. Look at power lines.

@Luisb01
Just as Arayas says! I doubt SCS ever will implement a better AA, as all they do is to
work with post-processing methods, so also with the so called "New lighting system"!

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
I am very curious to see if they deal with real light behaviour and textures because right now i cannot deal with better AI flares because textures are translucid, and if you have a car behind in the night time, your cabin is gonna glow because of the flares of that car. Or, how the light is going through bridges and you see the flares under them. I hate how Ai have 5 m of lights in front of them and no high beam. IRL you see the lights of an incoming car even if its hidden by a road curve.
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Well, let's put it this way, they haven't surprised me with ANY of those post-processing solutions YET,
MLAA, SMAA or SSAO!

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
These games already look great with ultra and 400% scaling... in screenshots.
I don't drive a screenshot. Our current great looking images just shimmer and flicker once they're in motion... unless you apply MSAA.
Driving behind your special transport vehicle at night on unlit roads is annoying when they don't use high beam and i have to...

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@Arayas or BenganJ
Can you describe what the problem was/is for Arayas and AA?
I looked at the pic a page or so back and couldn't determine what was wrong, i didn't click it, just looked at it in that page. I can usually see the windscreen edges all blocky if no AA.
Arayas, when you look at the driving screen, with AA all setup and then change scaling to 125% and look again... does it look the same or much worse? Just a quick AA/no AA test.

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@JHTrucker
Well, I can't get a grip on this either, as Arayas seem to do things correctly, but still
there seem to not be any AA. The powerlines in that picture are hardly to be seen
at all, so at one time I thought it was due to he configuring a positive LOD Bias instead
of a negative, but no.

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
The NPI setup looks better anyway than the SCS one, if that is you asking. I will try with 125% to see and report back.
Funny is close objects are not that bad (except shadows) but far ones are bad.
EDIT: with 125% is BAD, waaaay bad even for close objects, so the NPI works somehow but not fully.
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@Arayas - Thanks for testing, so that proves NPI and config are correct.
Now these are what determine image quality into the distance.
NPI:
Texture filtering - Quality
High performance = close up only
preformance = not as close
Quality = default
High quality = Far into distance - use this!
Then also:
Anisotropic filtering mode = 'User-defined / Off'.
Anisotropic filtering setting ='16x'.
Or use config.cfg
uset r_anisotropy_factor "1"
Texture filtering - Driver Controlled LOD Bias ='Off'
Texture filtering - LOD Bias (DX) = '-1.0'
The above only sharpens or blurs the image so won't affect AA.
Using lower than native resolution does make fine lines in the distance blocky.
And fix those shadows in config.cfg:
uset r_sun_shadow_texture_size "8192"
