[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@ BenganJ
Where's my gun, I feel such an idiot now and have basically wasted your time, JHTrucker's time and my own for the last 3 weeks, I am so sorry.
I thought the export was to export the file to the game aswell as putting it somewhere safe for when you needed it.
If I verify the game files now in steam and all is good, will I need to download the whole game again incase I have messed the exe files up?
Hopefully the game is gonna go like a rocket when I finally get it setup right :-)

No problem mate, the only thing that counts, is that we now have
the situation under control again or you have. Just go for it again!

@BenganJ
Thank you :-)
Situation under control hahahahahahaha, maybe
thinking about it the NPI settings must have been finding their way to the game even though steam was downloading the exe file again everytime so all maybe not lost. I am starting from scratch now with new config. cfg files and NPI profiles and will carefully input all the settings from page 1 plus the other little bits you have told me.
Has JHTrucker got up off the floor yet???????
Thank you :-)

Hahahaha, no the chance is he won't show up for some time now!
Yep, that sounds good, starting from scratch again, saving to the driver with Apply changes
and EXPORTing the settings to a .nip file, so that you later can IMPORT those settings into NPI
when needed, e.g. when you upgrade your driver!

@toni1958 - I started laughing as i was typing my last post... and now i've read your reply it's now starting to hurt!! Funniest thing in ages... thanks.
Just to be clear, NPI changes driver settings like BenganJ said, when you hit apply the driver is modified not the game. You export to a file those settings so you can import them after updating your driver. But you don't have to, you can just change them manually after each driver update if you wanted to.
NPI doesn't need to be left open after applying and when all your games work ok you never need to open it again until a driver update.
Importing nip with settings for an old card may just import a setting that doesn't quite work for the new one. Hence why i'd start again, there's not that much to change.
The game generates the image - renders it - driver applies all it's settings for that game to the result - you see that resulting image. The game doesn't know the image is now better, only we do.
The driver is the one in control.
Any driver settings that are "app control" allows the game to control that aspect.
For example:
Vsync=force off in driver - The game will never get vsync on regardless of the game settings.

@Arayas
I did some driving on SCS Vanilla map and to me it all looked as before though!
BTW, have you any negative LOD Bias settings in NPI?

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Thank you, i just wanted to know if you have problems. Like i always said for who is asking for help: "if it works for everybody but not for you...you know?"
So, time to re-check everything.

I never got any response on this post! Have you solved your problem?BenganJ wrote: ↑December 7th, 2020, 12:19 pm@pdxmark77
Do you get that flickering in daylight too? I'm asking because in the headlight from the truck
at night you'll get a much higher contrast and that might give you some flicker. Otherwise, do
you feel you get proper AA? Maybe a short video in sunny daylight where you have some power
lines to watch, we might see.
