@yiannis

Oh, I agree with you fully! I just pointed out the lousy system of resource loading
they presently have implemented in the game. If you choose to use NaturaLux with
its HUGE sized skyboxes, 85 MB each, you'll only get 9 loading buffers to use at the
same time and it's a damn waste, when a lot of small sized resources should also be
loaded, hence the more frequent hickup freezes. At some point before 1.37 they
sounded at SCS as if some REALLY sophisticated graphics improvements was on its
way, but what have we got? A REALLY lousy new AA method, SMAA, and an ambient
occlusion implementation SSAO, sadly not even usable together with our NPI AA scheme,
that's all.

Just I was thinking I came across a game that would gives excite and delight to me...
... nope, it too disappointed me, like many other games I try!
Good thing I tried the game illegally before I bought it!..
If it goes also like this, a game that I will never buy and it will never deserve my money!
(and also, it will never deserve any "single" core of my CPU!)

P.S.:
I am not in favor of illegally using games and/or programs, and I have never been like that.
For those who don't trust me and want to question my sincerity,
my Steam game library alone will be enough to prove it: https://steamcommunity.com/id/ta2df/

And sadly all this will go on since there are fan boys that go out of their minds when SCS releases useless stuff like paintjobs and roll bars or however they are called..

Just wanted to check with you, Im running the ATS 1.39 beta and found this in my config.cfg file "uset r_buffer_page_size "500""
I might have set the buffer to 50 at some point but I definitely never added 500!
My question is, does the 1.39 client set it to 500 or does it just add a zero to the end of whatever is already there?
Those who have updated to the beta, whats your buffer size now?

@Wombat Trucker

Well mate, I find it VERY odd if SCS would raise the default value from "10" to "500",
without indicating some REAL development regarding buffer handling scheme. But,
as I haven't tested the 1.39 PB yet, I can't tell if the game do that, so we have to
wait for some other people to tell!

EDIT: After having enabled the ATS 1.39 PB and letting it create a new folder in
Documents, the value of uset r_buffer_page_size is still at the too small one, "10".
So no, something else seems to have modified yours, Wombat!

Yeah, thats why I suspect they intended to raise it to 100 by adding ZERO to the default 10.
It could of course just be me being drunk and adding an extra zero at the end of my 50 setting but the problem with that is...I dont drink.

@Wombat Trucker

No, but have you had a recent crash when running 1.39 PB? Often a crash
will modify the config.cfg in mysterious ways!

True but not in this way. Due to my nature I have a fair share of crashes and never have the file been changed to anything but default or mildly changed values. 500 is outrages. But FYI, it works just fine 😄

@Wombat Trucker

Well, I've seen and heard other people with HUGE values say it works well,
but so have my humble "30" done too! :grin:
