[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@BenganJ - Quantity over quality! Anyway, you can't have that res in multi... no DSR available.
As you know, I have 3x1280x1024 for 3840x1024 @ 2xAA 30 fps.
I could use my spare 1920x1080 monitor @ 4xAA 30fps instead and have all maxed (not your lod's), but then after 10+ years of ultra wide res driving, 1 monitor just looks like wearing horse blinkers... so 2xAA is good enough for me.

I think you should add the note because you may get someone who has 1920x1080 or higher res monitor but has desktop res set to 1440x900 and then complaining that AA doesn't work. Looking at the config or game log won't help you spot the problem!

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Hi,
I had another go this afternoon and I got pretty good results with 4800x1024 and settings High. I also increased the anisotropic filtering to maximum and gave me some clearer image.
But I think it also eat's some fps? I got the occasional dip to 20-24 fps but in the next few days I will do some testing/adjusting to see what the sweet spot is.
Thanks again for this great work, now that I experience AA i will never go back (well, i will still drink, moderately LOL)
I'm looking to get a gtx 1080 TI (11 Gb) second hand. I know there're better video cards today but I'm on a budget.
Cheers,
Luc

@JHTrucker
Oh, I know exactly what you mean, as I have had a 3x1920x1080 setup earlier,
during the UKTS and GTS era! Then I used a marvelously good program called
SoftTH (Soft Triple Head) to get a smart 3 monitor setup, but sadly it died when
the guy was trying to get it working on DX11. But the quality I have now with
the smoothness and all, I accept it. I can admit though, that first possibility to
get back to a curved wide-screen setup, I will grasp it.
Regarding that uncommented post of yours, can you elaborate a bit more on that,
because I don't really understand where you are heading there!
@skycamel
Glad to hear you managed to get it going on that resolution. Yep, the GTX1080Ti
should be easier to get at a reasonal prize now that also the RTX3000 series has
been released, or actually will be tomorrow!

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@BenganJ - If you set 800x600 as your desktop resolution and then run ATS/ETS2 that are currently setup as 1920x1080, for example, then your game will only be running at 800x600.
The game wrongly uses the current desktop res as the max the game can use regardless of available monitor res.
So the point is it's an scs bug but more importantly anyone using a lower res for desktop than game will lose AA or not have optimum quality.

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@JHTrucker
Aha, that I actually know, but couldn't read that out of what you posted. My bad!
Well, I learned that when I started to use DSR. Then I had to set the desktop res
to the DSR res I used in game to get a tiny bit better AA than 4x! Okay, I will see
where I can insert that kind of info in first post, maybe at the same point as the
warnings for resolutions based on x900.

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@BenganJ - From that post:
Perhaps add this to the end of step 3:
For best AA results, set your monitors native resolution for your windows desktop resolution and in game resolution.

@JHTrucker
But is that the full truth? My case is not included in that, as I DO NOT set my desktop res to my monitors native res!

@JHTrucker @BenganJ
I'm sure it could also be useful to other people and you could ad this to the first post?
Cheers,
Luc
This is actually very interesting information, I was wondering what was the determinant factor in the resolution to get AA.

@skycamel & @JHTrucker
Damn, you create a lot of work for me all the time! Just kidding!
I will add something about all this, but I have to think a bit on how
I put it forward, so people understand it! Thanks for your cooperation!
EDIT: To some extent the info is already there, before Step 1.

Currently 1440x900 and 1680x1050 monitors (single, double or triple setup) won't get AA applied. Possibly due to the
game being hard coded with 1440x900 internally? For possible workaround, check this post: viewtopic.php?p=16544#p16544
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
True, I was thinking of that too, but it doesn't clearly point out that whatever with x9yy wouldn't work
Just keeping you busy, don't worry, signing of now LOL
