[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)

But that was said about MSAA too when it comes to DX11, it had to be implemented
in the game first! Is it the same you think with DLSS? They say that it is needed, but
isn't really! I'm NOT aware of any SCS implementation of MSAA and still we have been
able to accomplish it here.

I think DLSS works kind in the same way a Antivirus software works, takes samples from each user and sends them to Online Servers where they are analysed in real time and you get back in almost real time again, the right mathematical algorithm which is adjusting the image for the game you are playing.

Well, isn't the question then this? Is it the GPU that do that communication to/from the servers,
or does the game really have to know about this way of doing the AA processing?

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
given the fact DLSS works only with RTX cards, I would think it depends on both the GPU and online side of things...
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)

Yes, so I interpreted it too, but still if the GPU is doing all the job with
communication and processing of the image, why does the game have to
know anything about this! I also got it that my Turing based GTX1660Ti
will NOT get this feature, only the RTX series! In the just released v2.0
of the DLSS technique they also say that it is in some way NOT game
dependent at all.

Look for instance at MFAA, there since ever in the Nvidia drivers yet it doesn't do shit, why? probably because developers have not embraced it. DLSS might turn out to be the same way.

Okay, the v2.0 is brand new, so let's wait and see what happens to it!
Nice having this talk with you my friend! :D

@BenganJ & @black-coffee - "Look for instance at MFAA, there since ever in the Nvidia drivers yet it doesn't do shit". That's also true of MLAA in game for 7 years!
MSAA when implemented in game isn't as brutal on performance.
In Project cars 2, MSAA is low-medium-high and looks like it's mainly applied to cars and not so much the surroundings. So the FPS difference between high and low for me isn't massive when running only 9 AI cars (to keep 60 FPS at 3072x768). Also, i'm not looking at the surroundings in here, just the car in front of me that's going to be overtaken! Day night cycle/light rain+puddles not a problem.
Being able to not apply AA to trees in ETS2/ATS for example would be really FPS helpful but by forcing AA we can't choose.
Pcars low 70+ fps & high 50+
ETS2 no AA 94 fps, 2x AA 53 fps & 4x AA 28 fps.

@JHtrucker & @black-coffee
So true, there's a BIG difference to the racing type of "simulators". They can
do just enough as they are limited to that focus right ahead most of the time.
In ETS2/ATS we can actually enjoy a gorgeous landscape. :D

@BenganJ - Did you try DSR yet?
For the purpose of testing i reinstalled driver 353.06 (2015) and still only get 2x & 4x with 8x and higher just 4x. So it's not a modern driver issue stopping higher AA settings.
