[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@BenganJ - you called...
Short answer, no, it has to be just one rendered image unless there's a magic AA bit still to be discovered... but i'm not taking up that challenge! Same was true for DX9.
Can i explain why, sorry if you know any of this already others might be interested?
Multimon_mode "0" - game default - 1 rendered image.
Driving screen is your res and UI is stretched to fit.
Multimon_mode "1" - 1 rendered image.
Driving screen is your res and UI is centred. @1920x1080 both are equal size.
But @3840x1024 you can see the difference. Smaller UI and for me no more flipping gfx! But you guy's said that Multimon_mode "1" doesn't work for you.
Image (at bottom) kept low res as it's just for illustration purposes not gfx quality.
And that's how i came up with the fix.
Multimon_mode "4" generates a multimon_config.sii file with the config for 3 monitors and a UI.
Within multimon_config.sii I deleted 2 monitors (left & right) and edited the centre one as "mymonitor" and set it's "x" to 0 and "width" to 1 and set the UI width slightly smaller otherwise the UI would be stretched the same as it is for Multimon_mode "0" and still cause gfx flipping.
The only choice for triple screen users is to use nvidia surround to make one single monitor, but depending on your monitor res it will be horrendously stretched.
My setup 3840x1024 is actually 3x1280x1024 monitors connected to TH2GO (so i'm as triple screen user). But my gtx760 2g shows i have one monitor @ 3840x1024.
I use TH2GO to adjust the bezels to show one continuous image left to right, with about an inch of black vertical screen at both ends, the 2 side images are moved closer to the centre image (under the bezels).
I find this is ok for me, i can force AA, i can use in game zoom to read upcoming signs and it's not that stretched at the sides that it bothers me.
And yes, this 10+ years old setup will be sadly missed if i get a monitor failure, who sells non-widescreen screens these days...
Triple image = no forced AA and no in game zoom.
Here's what my 3840x1024 looks like and then 3x1920x1080 (5760x1080) as one rendered image.
Image kept low res as it's just for illustration purposes not gfx quality.
Lastly, i've had a good drive around ETS2 and ATS and haven't seen any anomalies caused by our A7F AA bit.

Yes, I know since my time with SoftTH and a triple monitor setup,
how these things work, but it's good to have the info here. What
I never had to deal with very much was the SCS multimon conf,
as I ran with mode = 2 on the SoftTH configured single resolution
config. That config I dealt with quite a lot, but sadly the guy who
took it over from the original creator, suddenly stopped developing,
actually when he had just started to fix a DX11 version. :(

@SMN
You have the same in front of you looking through the windshield, but
in the mirror you have added the reflection from the sun I imagine. Have
you set any of the Image sharpening parameters in NPI or NCP?
EDIT: And what graphics mod do you use? RGM, Grimes, NEXT-GEN or
NaturaLux?

@SMN
Okay, I think that explains it a bit. Please, lower this setting of
--- Sharpening Value ------------------------------------ '0.75' to a
value between 0.5 - 0.6 and see if that is having an effect on
the detailing!

Hm, NOT much effect there! Can you just as a test temporarily inactivate RGM
and see what effect that has?

@SMN
Mate, you have to quit the game, change the Image sharpening value and then test again.
Did you do that? AND, don't forget to hit Apply changes before testing again!
