@Aragwath - Thanks for feedback - Please remove that stream from your post as it eats all my mobile data when just reading your post.

With the settings I use for driving, there isn't a glitch. Window open or closed.

But whilst working on developing v5.4, I noticed it and fixed it. I'd hoped it was a problem that started in v5.4 but I guess not, you have it in v5.3.

I'll re-look at v5.3 to fix it as v5.4 isn't anywhere near ready.

UPDATE:

Amended sleep activation to avoid unwanted sleeping when using 'look action' to switch to the sleeper compartment.

When sat or laid down in the sleeper you need to look up to 105 degrees and press 'action' to activate sleep. You must already be parked on a sleep icon.

Note:
Supported trucks limit look up head movement to 90 degrees.
Unsupported trucks limit look up head movement to ~70 degrees (depending on truck).
Your on screen view will stop moving up and so you'll need to keep moving your real head to reach the trigger zone of 105 degrees.

Or just press your activation key to sleep.

Re: TrackIR Driving Enhancements - ATS/ETS2 1.38 to 1.47 - Updated 01/07/2023

Post by JHTrucker » July 1st, 2023, 7:15 pm

Update:

New mods:-
TrackIR Driving Enhancements v4.4 (1.38-1.43) - 'Supported' & 'Unsupported' (mod) trucks can be used together.
TrackIR Driving Enhancements v5.4 (1.44-1.47) - 'Supported' & 'Unsupported' (mod) trucks can be used together.
TDE (Unsupported) v4.4 (1.38-1.43) - All trucks will function in 'Unsupported' mode.
TDE (Unsupported) v5.4 (1.44-1.47) - All trucks will function in 'Unsupported' mode.
TDE (g_cam_window_block) v4.4 (1.38-1.43) - All trucks will function in 'Unsupported' mode whilst using 'g_cam_window_block' for window blocking.
TDE (g_cam_window_block) v5.4 (1.44-1.47) - All trucks will function in 'Unsupported' mode whilst using 'g_cam_window_block' for window blocking.
TDE Optional multiplayer fix - Allows you to re-enable the driver model so that multiplayers trucks are not seen as driverless.

TDE - Cabin Camera Creator - v4.1 (1.38-1.43)
TDE - Cabin Camera Creator - v5.1 (1.44-1.47)

What's new or changed?
'TrackIR Driving Enhancements' mod no longer has a different mod for different FOV values.
All supported trucks now have a default FOV 60 (rather than the random ones SCS uses).
Use the F4 menu to set your required FOV etc in the usual way. Note: Head pitch is now no longer required to be adjusted via the TDE menu.

'Supported' - Reworked 'window blocking' code and truck interior camera files.

'Supported' can now have 'no window blocking' enabled, if required.

New SCS trucks, Volvo VNL 2018 (ATS) & MAN TGX 2020 (ETS2) are now 'supported' for TDE v5.4 and game version 1.47+.

Added more 'CAM 1 Driving presets' to help with testing/understanding different functions.

Important Note: TDE has been deliberately coded to make it easy to see if your current truck is 'supported' or 'unsupported':
Using 'TrackIR Driving Enhancements...' mod:
In the driving seat, if your head won't go out of the window, your current truck is 'Supported' but you are using 'Unsupported' presets/settings. Change them to 'Supported'.
If your head is stuck looking back over, your current truck is 'Unsupported' but you are using 'Supported' presets/settings. Change them to 'Unsupported'.

Using 'TDE (Unsupported)...' or 'TDE (g_cam_window_block)...' mods:
If your head is stuck looking back over, you are using 'supported' settings. Always use 'Unsupported' presets/settings.

----------

All TDE menu mods (not 'TDE - Cabin Camera Creator') now contain truck specific 'CAM 2 Passenger Seat' & 'CAM 3 Sleeper' presets for both ATS and ETS2 trucks.
Note: You need to delete all previously supplied Passenger Seat & Sleeper presets from your 'eye_tracking_presets' folder (if you downloaded them). Be careful not to delete any of your 'CAM 1' Driving presets or 'CAM 2 Passenger Seat' & 'CAM 3 Sleeper' presets that you may have created.

All Passenger Seat & Sleeper cameras are now static by default. 'Move To', if required, is now enabled/disabled globally via controls.sii:
"mix lookpos9 `0`" <-- 'Static' cameras (Default)
"mix lookpos9 `1`" <-- 'Move To' cameras

All Passenger Seat & Sleeper presets are now setup as 'Supported' or 'Unsupported' via tick box in 'TDE - Cabin Camera Creator - v4.1 or v5.1' menu, this ensures these cameras function correctly, depending on the truck you are currently driving.
Note: This tick box was originally the 'Move To' tick box and so any presets you may have made with this ticked will now be classed as 'unsupported' instead. Change to suit.
Example:
Supported truck - TDE Menu --> CAM 1 Supported... / CAM 2 Supported... / CAM 3 Supported...
Unsupported truck - TDE Menu --> CAM 1 Unsupported... or CAM 1 (g_cam_window_block)... / CAM 2 Unsupported... / CAM 3 Unsupported...

----------

'TDE Optional multiplayer fix' is a new mod that can be used to re-enable the trucks driver model, that TDE removes, if required.
Without using this mod:
There's nobody sat the driving seat of your truck when you are outside, TDE default, but all multiplayer trucks are seen as 'driverless'.
Using this mod (placed above the main TDE mod in your mod manage list):
The driver model is shown at all times as per default game.
Note: This mod is now used instead of originally having each TDE mod as a 'driver' or 'no driver' version.

----------

Here's some more detailed info on what's changed and why, if you're interested.

This update changes the way 'window blocking' works for 'supported' trucks.
Originally, a 'modified' cam 1 was used to keep your head inside the cab when the windows were closed. Then when your head moved out through the open window, my TDE code would auto switch from cam 1 to 'modified' cam 5 at the required point, which meant both cameras had to have the same FOV and match up exactly for yaw/pitch/roll/x/y/z at the switch point to avoid any movement glitches. Whilst this method proved to work ok, I always thought it made it seem too complicated for anyone wanting to setup and try TDE.
The new method no longer switches cameras and instead switches to different cam 1 camera paths depending on whether the window is open or closed and therefore simplified the user setup and once again allowed the use of any FOV.

As a bonus, the change to this new 'window blocking' method also fixed some minor things that switching to/from cam 1 & cam 5 originally caused:

From game version 1.40 (new lighting) as you turned your head out of the open window there was a noticeable change in light levels at the cameras switch point. Due to switching between interior and exterior cameras.

If your FOV wasn't set correctly for the mod you were using then there was a noticeable movement glitch at the camera switch point. Due to mismatched FOV's between interior and exterior cameras.

When 'walking' outside your truck, the outside path, 'modified' cam 5, wasn't positioned centrally for each truck due to each truck having different widths and 'modified' cam 5 was still being used for 'window blocking' and so couldn't be better adjusted for outside as well.
'Modified' cam 5 is now only used for 'walking' outside and therefore each 'supported' truck now has its own outside path.

Game version 1.48 bug:

A bug caused by SCS adding percentage values to various in game menu sliders has now broken the existing percentage sliders within the Tobii Eye menu and therefore also my TDE menu.

For proof, here's what the Tobii Eye menu looks like, new profile and no mods v1.48.2.6s, shift + numlock to open the Tobii Eye menu.
Image
As you can see the 'Gaze view responsiveness' slider is clearly around 40% and yet the value stated is 0%...

For reference:
The percentage sliders still work with my line edits, it's just that the value shown is broken.
Slider position between 0% (left side) to 50% (middle) is shown as 0%.
Slider position between 51% (middle) to 100% (right side) is shown as 1%.
For now you'll just have to go with where the slider is placed rather than it's stated value.

I haven't updated ETS2 to 1.48 yet, but I assume it'll have the same problem.

I'll just wait to see if SCS notices that they've broken their Tobii Eye menu...

Edit: The bug still persists in game version 1.48.5 also.
Therefore the next TDE update will change all TDE sliders that are currently shown as a % value to their actual value between 0.00 & 1.00 instead. This won't affect any saved presets or TDE functionality.

TDE Update v4.5 (1.41-1.43) & v5.5 (1.44+) and associated line edits:

From this update onward, TDE now requires game version 1.41+. This is due to the 'memory' function, that SCS added in 1.41, that I've now used within my updated code.
This means that all game versions from 1.41 up to the current 1.49 are confirmed to work with this update, just use the correct mod to suit.
For reference, this update was developed and tested on 1.47, 1.48 & 1.49 (basic laptop), but I do all my driving on 1.41 (PC) due to having old hardware and SCS newer updates are just forcing a visual downgrade in order to maintain the required 30 FPS.

What's new or changed?

Fixed text error in post 2 and post 4 for TDE setup of the cam 1 preset within config_local.cfg: uset g_eye_preset_1
I'd forgot to change that preset name to match the new one contained in v4.4/v5.4, that was posted back in July. Anyone trying TDE for the first time, following my instructions, would have had no cam 1 movement and perhaps just gave up rather than report an error? However, changing the cam 1 preset in game via the TDE menu would have solved that initial setup issue.
The posted default setup instructions, once again, do now work as intended.

Amended - TDE menu sliders that were previously shown as 0-100% are now shown as 0.00-1.00. The values used by these sliders have always been 0.00-1.00, but shown as a percentage instead, so there's no problem with any saved presets you might have.
SCS introduced a bug in game version 1.48 that prevented % values from being displayed correctly within the games Tobii Eye menu and therefore my TDE menu also... as of game version 148.5 & 1.49 that same bug still exists but will now no longer affect the TDE menu.

Added support for the newly release DAF XD, including passenger seat and sleeper presets. Requires ETS2 game version 1.48.5+

Added - CAM 1 presets for 'Yaw only' or 'Yaw & Pitch only'.
These are meant for anyone that prefer not to have all the extra head movement whilst driving but can still have all head movement in the passenger seat, sleeper area or outside.
TrackIR software needs to have all 6DOF made available to the game.
In game, selecting 'Yaw only' preset will allow yaw head movement only, whilst driving and all the others, pitch, roll, x, y & z are disabled.
When in the passenger seat or sleeper area you'll have yaw, pitch & roll enabled.
When outside your truck you'll have yaw, pitch, roll & y enabled - Note: x & z are controlled via your steering wheel so that you 'walk' around your truck.
Selecting 'Yaw & Pitch only' is the same as above except you have only Yaw & Pitch head movement whilst driving.

Amended - Refueling. No need to keep pressing 'Action' whilst refueling:
Stand outside and look down at your trucks fuel tank(s) and quick press 'Action' to start refueling. You are free to look or walk around while you wait. Refueling will stop if you press 'Action' again, fuel tank is full or you re-enter your truck.
Note 1: Refuel trigger zone for ATS has been increased to under the drivers door area to better suit some ATS trucks that have their fuel tanks located there. This wasn't possible with the previous 'press & hold' refueling method.
Note 2: Previous 'press & hold' refueling method is still available as an option, if you prefer it. See post 6 'TDE - Optional edits' for full info.

Added - 'Look Action' when using owned trailers.
Park your truck and owned trailer as usual but instead of just pressing activate to load/unload the cargo you can now get out of the truck and 'walk' to the back of the first trailer area and then press 'Action' button. You'll see the cargo load/unload screen and then just 'walk' back to your cab, whilst checking out the content of your trailer, get in and drive away.

Removed - Option to use your H Shifter to select between the 6 available outside walk paths - A better way to do this has now been added, see below.

Amended - Outside 'walk' path selecting - Stand outside the drivers door or passengers door and look towards the end of your trailer and quick press your brake pedal or accelerator pedal to select the required 'walk' path to suit how your trailer is positioned. There's 4 'walk' paths to the left and the right.
Note: This is the new TDE default outside setup, see bottom of post 1 for usage info.
Required change to your (American/Euro Truck Simulator 2\profiles\Your Profile\config_local.cfg)
ATS or ETS2 with both truck types in game:
uset g_eye_preset_5 "g:RHD_ATS_outside_steer_path_select"
uset g_eye_preset_4 "g:LHD_ATS_outside_steer_path_select"
OR
ETS2 with default trucks and/or 'cab over' mod trucks only:
uset g_eye_preset_5 "g:RHD_ETS_outside_steer_path_select"
uset g_eye_preset_4 "g:LHD_ETS_outside_steer_path_select"

Added - Optional - Adjust the big left/right mirrors whilst sat in the driving seat without using the F4 menu. See post 6 'TDE - Optional edits' for full info.

Added - Optional - 'Head Zoom' toggle:
In the driving seat only, you can toggle 'Head Zoom' on/off. When you lean forward to enable 'Head Zoom' you can now quick press the 'Action' button at the same time so that the screen stays zoomed in without having to keep leaning forward. May be useful when backing up and looking in your mirrors? Quick press the 'Action' button again, whilst looking straight ahead, to toggle 'Head Zoom' off.
Note: You'll need to enable this zoom toggle feature as its defaulted to off. See post 6 'TDE - Optional edits' for full info.

Added - Optional - Sound the horn as a reminder that your steering is not centered when you are trying to get out of your truck:
When using 'look action' to exit your truck, if your steering isn't centered when you press 'Action', the horn will sound. See post 6 'TDE - Optional edits' for full info.

TDE Update v5.51 (1.44+):

Added 'support' for the newly released Kenworth T680 2022. Requires ATS game version 1.49+

There's only 1 mod updated, 'TrackIR Driving Enhancements v5.51 (1.44+)'.
The other 2 mods have no need to be updated as the new truck already works in 'unsupported' mode and therefore remain at v5.5 (1.44+).

There's no required changes to the controls.sii line edits.

You now enable with 'Look Action' by looking at the near mirror whilst pressing and holding 'Action' for +1 sec.
Look away from the mirrors and quick press 'Action' to disable it.

Added optional 'Infotainment' on/off using 'Look Action' - For game version 1.46+
Look at the centre console GPS, press and hold 'Action' for +1 sec and it'll turn on/off.
Note 1: TDE default 'Look Action' for stepping through the GPS screens still functions as quick press 'Action'.
Note 2: This had to be optional as the function doesn't exist in lower game versions that TDE still works with.
Note 3: Don't forget to also do the required line edits stated below, otherwise this won't work correctly.
