Oh, fantastic !
There truly is a lot of info and I think I got the basics and what to do. I thank you for replying and for all your work !
Now I have only one problem. It seems I can't download anything ? It states that "You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post." How can I solve that ? I need to contact someone, or ?

Try again, I think 2 posts may be the threshold.

First post update.

What's new? - Nothing, if you're already setup and working.

For easy testing, I've added a game default 'controls.sii' file with all current line edits applied to it.
By using this 'controls.sii' file you'll need to re-setup all your game controls for buttons, keys, wheel, pedals, shifter & Force Feedback settings etc.
Or don't use this file and apply the line edits to your 'controls.sii' file instead. The choice is yours!

Added external links to mod so you don't need to register on here.

Re: Multiple Universal External Cameras v8.1 with look function for 1.38 to 1.46 - Updated 23/11/2022

Post by JHTrucker » November 23rd, 2022, 4:48 pm

First post update.

What's new? - Reference to game version 1.46 added.

New menu mods: Multiple Universal External Cameras v6.2 (1.38-1.43), v7.1 (1.44) & v8.1 (1.45-1.46).

Increased drop down list size for 'CAM 6', 'CAM 7' & 'CAM 8'.

Renamed 'walk' presets to:
Cam 6/7/8 - Walk Around Truck - xHD xxx - Far Distance
Cam 6/7/8 - Walk Around Truck - xHD xxx - Near Distance
Cam 6/7/8 - Walk Around Truck - xHD xxx - Offset - Far Distance
Cam 6/7/8 - Walk Around Truck - xHD xxx - Offset - Near Distance
(12 in total, LHD/RHD/ATS/ETS)

Added new 'walk' presets:
Cam 6/7/8 - Walk Facing Truck - xHD xxx - Far Distance
Cam 6/7/8 - Walk Facing Truck - xHD xxx - Near Distance
Cam 6/7/8 - Walk Facing Truck - xHD xxx - Offset - Far Distance
Cam 6/7/8 - Walk Facing Truck - xHD xxx - Offset - Near Distance
(12 in total, LHD/RHD/ATS/ETS)

The above 'Walk Facing Truck...' presets will keep your head facing the truck as you turn your steering to walk around it. All existing 'look' and 'walk' movements can still be used.

Amended line edit date highlighted for:
config_lines[279]: "mix headtryaw...
('Walk Facing Truck...' won't work if you forget to change this).

New 'quick start' controls.sii 23-11-2022 file.

The modification works perfectly, thank you very much JHTrucker! I had a fantastic experience, I really missed being able to look around from the top of the truck. Now it works! Thanks for all your hard work! :smile3:

I would like to ask for help. I am using version 8.1 with TrackIR and I love it! But, I have only one problem. If I take the TrackIR off my head (turns it away from the sensor) and then try to use it again, it loses tracking completely. But only in driving (Cam 1) mode. I can't look around, nothing moves. If I switch to 'Look Behind' (Cam 5 ) mode it still works fine, I can look around from the top of the truck. I tried activating/deactivating the feature in menu mod, tried everything, but only a full restart of the game solves this problem. What could be the reason for this, can I do something about it?

Sorry for my poor English!

@alaci - Thanks for your feedback.

Firstly, your English is perfect.

Secondly, you found a bug!
When TrackIR is switched off my code allows cam 1 to be toggled between game standard look movement with a gamepad thumbstick and auto centre movement by pressing cam 1 button. The code got stuck in non-TrackIR mode preventing it from enabling TrackIR movement once TrackIR was switched back on.

Thirdly, I've sent you a PM with a line edit change (I don't want random line edits within these posts).
Please apply that line edit to your controls.sii file and test again to see if you can still break it.

I'll do an update post if you're happy it's now working as intended.

Thanks

@JHTrucker

Thank you, based on your feedback, Google Translate knows English well!

I tried your modification, and unfortunately it did not bring a solution.

My experiences:

- If I take the TrackIR off my head, of course the image turns to the side, but after a few seconds it turns to the center. If I continue to drive for a few minutes and then put the TrackIR on my beautiful head again, the tracking continues to work flawlessly.

- If I take TrackIR off my head, then after a while I switch to the world map or the external view (Cam 5), or there will be some interaction, toll gate, work, etc. and then I turn on TrackIR, it continues to work, but only if the interruption of tracking lasted for a relatively short time. If the tracking loss is approx. It lasted for 1 minute, after which tracking is permanently lost in Cam1 mode.

Strange... I hope you understand what I wrote.

Thanks!
