@RunnyPilot

Now I'm VERY glad again! Enjoy the game now then! And thanks for the report!

@Facepаlm

Thanks for the thorough comparison, which once again confirms that with the NPI scheme,
there's a definitive difference to the in-game scaling plus SMAA, even if at maximum 400%!
And it still works at 1.40 without problems!

Got 2 questions, what does prerendered frames do? Is a higher value better or worse?
And does an overclocked gpu do any good for ets2 cause i am thinking to going back to stock values to see if that boosts my fps so i could run 4x smoothly. With 1.40 the AA from the game itself got way worse than it was before. Its like driving a truck in minecraft :lol:

@mgysgtdev

Maximum pre-rendered frames
Controls how many frames the CPU can prepare ahead of the frame currently being drawn by the GPU.
Increasing this can result in smoother gameplay at lower frame rates, at the cost of additional input delay.
This setting does not apply to SLI configurations.

  • Default is Use the 3D application setting, and it is recommended not to go above 3. Values of 1 and 2
    will help reduce input latency in exchange for greater CPU usage.
  • When Vsync is set to 1/2 Refresh Rate, a value of 1 is essentially required due to the introduced input
    latency

GPU overclocking
That second question I must admit, I don't really understand. Normally an overclocked GPU will give you
a better performance, so removing the overclocking will not give you a higher FPS. Or have I totally got
you wrong here?

@BenganJ - Those gpubuffers... do they all turn red around areas with trees etc?
I wonder if there's a command line to increase the number of them and size just like you use for memory?

@mgysgtdev - If your gpu usage isn't 100% then the overclock isn't doing anything.

Your CPU generates each frame.
Your GPU renders those CPU generated frames.

FPS drop and GPU usage is low, why?
The CPU has to generate more detailed frames (newer DLC area or increased traffic mod etc) or the CPU is currently too busy running everything else in the game.
Fewer frames generated means fewer frames to render and therefore GPU usage is lower.

If when using 4x AA your gpu is 100% all the time with vsync on, then it's too high for your gpu to use it.

@JHTrucker

So far I haven't seen any pattern in coloring the buffers, but I'll see if I can find some new startup argument
to specify number and sizes of the buffers.

@BenganJ
Thank you for the explanation. I always thought that a higher pre-rendered frame value was better so I always set it to 8. But now I understand what it does and what value it should have.
As for the OC. I'm not sure if ETS2 or ATS have an advantage with OC. Since I don't see much difference in performance with and without it.

@JHTrucker
My GPU does indeed get to 100% with 4x. So I don't think a GTX1070 will handle 4x on triples (in SCS's games)

@mgysgtdev - 4x triple 1920x1080 ? and expecting 60fps isn't possible on a 1070.
1080ti 3x1920x1200 almost constant 60fps - forum member Foxman.

You could use 4x with 30 fps and turn up somethings you currently have turned down.
If monitors can go higher than 60 hz then you can get a higher than 30 fps vsync (37/48) using vsync 2/3/4 in config.cfg.

@BenganJ - does your game log show 'gpubuffers' like it does with memory buffers at the top?

No, not as I can see. The graphics card report looks to me as before!
