Half Useful User Manual

Post by Dogbert » October 8th, 2019, 12:42 am

Sorry boys there isn't a section for general discussion of the game.

Does anyone know of a good game manual please.

The default one is a complete waste of time.

I have looked at the guides on Steam, not much help either.

Looking for something, that explains what all the in game settings do.

What the positioning of sliders changes. Just the info to set up the options to the players preference.

Instead of guessing what each setting does. Plus info on all the game play aspects, delivery jobs, business model, training preferences and how they affect profit.

@Dogbert

Welcome to the club of not knowing, but hilariously interested in how
the game works and how to configure it! I doubt that SCS will do much
more than what they've already done. Have you ever visited the SCS
modding Wiki here:

Hi Bengt, modding is not really want i want thanks buddy.

Oh no i cannot see SCS doing anything to inform the masses. :D

But sometimes games get unofficial manuals created by third parties.

Not to worry, i just like plenty of information.

As they say buddy "knowledge is power". ;)

Thanks for taking the time to reply Bengt.

@Dogbert

I didn't say anything about you starting modding. But, have a look there, learn the
lingo, so to speak, and there you will find A LOT about Configuration variables e.g.
the ones you'll find in the config.cfg files and which in turn often mirrors the sliders
and other settings within the game
. I told you I'm serious sometimes too, you know.

You'll also find a lot info in this part of the SCS Forum,

https://forum.scssoft.com/viewforum.php?f=8

and to some degree here on this forum too!

@Dogbert

I agree with you to 1000% that it would be nice to have a proper game manual,
but, as Arayas said, there isn't even a good manual for the Map Editor either.
The best we have in that department is actually the video tutorials that Arayas
has made. Not ONE text version out there is even near that and they are
incomplete and not even finished, most of them.

Pain in the rear Bengt, all guess work and trial and error.

Just found something in the Wiki about Random Events.

I always wondered if road works were placed by the map creator and permanent.

But what i just read, road works can be RE, so they are not there every time you drive the same stretch of road.

Unless i have that totally wrong, which wouldn't surprise me. :mrgreen:

Yeah i watch some parts of Arayas map creation vids the day before yesterday.

All looks very complicated to me, way above my pay grade. :lol: :lol:
