@Dogbert
My personal favourite is the DAF F241 by XBS. Learnt to drive in one of these at the tender age of 21. Passed HGV in one aswell. First truck I owned was a Scania 164L. Spent many happy hrs at the wheel going around Europe. Volvo F88 is another good one by XBS.

Re: Show your truck!
Nice one buddy, i have the F88 thanks very much.
Don't think i have looked at the F241, i will give that a go thanks very much for the heads up.
I never got HGV, only PSV class 1 on double deckers. Learned and passed my class 1 on a decker with 4 speed manual box, no synchromesh on 1st and 2nd.
So i was introduced to the gentle art of double de-clutching very quickly. :D :D :D
Thanks again Russ469

You can download F241 from scs software forum. XBS also has his lovely DAF 95 ATI on there aswell. That replaced the F241 in 1995. Speedy143 has some good skins for F241 on his website. I still have nightmares about the Eaton twin split. Made a good driver look really good . Could also make you look like a complete prat aswell. Only used the clutch to move off. Rest of the time it was match the revs and pray.

Re: Show your truck!
@Russ469,
Got the F241 thank you. I downloaded the DAF 95 a while back, but it's a bit modern for my tastes, but thanks anyway.
Never heard of Eaton Twin Split, so i looked it up and watched a video on YT. Looks like good fun normal length gear stick though.
I used to have drive with one level with my chest, half inch diameter. :D :D :D
Here is my little beauty, in my company livery. Outside my garage in Paris, then trip across town to pick up trailer for trip to the south.

Re: Show your truck!
@Arayas
You can get it from scs forum. Just search DAF F241 by XBS. Is a really well made truck. :D :D
@Dogbert
Once I figure out how to post photo's I will put some up of mine. :D :D . Passed my test on the friday, started my first driving job on the monday. Got given an old ERF. It was known as the widow maker. Found out that the boss gave it to all new drivers for a couple of weeks to see if they could stick it. Scariest thing I ever drove in the wet :o :o . Steering was belt driven. You had to plan well ahead for roundabouts, corners, anything that didn't involve a straight line really.

Re: Show your truck!
@Arayas you keep your big gun to yourself, you filthy beast.
@Russ469, i use imgbb to host my screenies then use the links from there to post into the forum.
Same here buddy, test on friday then monday morning out in service on a Leyland National.
First let me say i do not know much about trucks buddy. Always been more into railways (i was an apprentice fitter on BR from leaving school) but also had a love of buses.
In regards lorries as we called them then. I like the old stuff like the Leyland Octopus and other 60's and 70's stuff. ERF's, Ford, (always loved the Ford Transcontinental), Dennis, Bedford, Atkinson, AEC, that sort of time period.
Belt driven steering, that sounds bloody scary Russ469. :shock: :shock:

Will have a look at imgbb later. Good collection of lorries there. I was brought up around lorries. Grandfather ran his own lorry for many years, I just kind of followed him. Modern stuff sucks now. All controlled by a computer . Breakdown now and they turn up with a laptop . Old stuff speaks to you. Remember Leyland National bus. Went to school on one of them.
