Thanks. I also suggested scs to add this feature for trackir users and who knows , maybe the will actually add it :)

@alonzam99 - Hope you get the correct response, then we can all use the "proper" solution.

But i have my doubts... this thread: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php ... 5#p1329462

SCS have specifically stated that it is working as intended, so no SCS aren't going to fix it. It's in the ATS Beta thread somewhere.
===========

The above was the reason for me to try and workout my own solution.
Anyway, are you using my option 7 or you rather just keep unblocked, the scs way?

A quote from my first post:
"You should at least try option 7 by driving around for some time with the windows closed or 25% or so open (to hear fmod sounds) to get a feel for having this new restriction to your head movement. If you don't like this new restriction, then the "small" limitation of non TIR controlled outside view isn't the issue you might think it is."

And if you don't like the restriction, then you won't like the "proper" solution either... if it ever happens.

@JHTrucker

That bad response from SCS and bad functioning in the game for TrackIR, must also apply for their
so advertised and supported Tobii Eye device too, or am I wrong? I'll ask Wombat Trucker to do
a test on that!

@BenganJ - mouse / game pad / button look all work with g_cam. Everything else doesn't.

EDIT:
If anyone with a tobii thing wants to test with my option 7 i could supply the changes that i think will work, but i don't have one so can't be sure.

@JHTrucker

Well, how the hell can they promote a device like Tobii Eye the way they have done
and then say, that is is as supposed when it comes to this thing with window blocking?
Beats me! But sadly it doesn't surprise me anymore!

@BenganJ
I assume scs think having your head motion suddenly stop will give you motion sickness and so won't do it..

And yet g_cam isn't a game feature, you can't access in game via menus, you have to hack the game files externally.
Yes you can use console but you can't enable console in game either, you have to hack the game files externally first.

The point is, you can't accidentally enable it and start feeling sick and not know why.
You try it, you like it or don't like it. Should be that Simple.

@JHTrucker

To be honest, the chance of me puking is higher due to SCS doing what they do in the case, than from
hitting the closed window using TrackIR head movements! :taunt: :fuck:

@BenganJ - I think the real reason for it is because of VR headsets.
You are totally enclosed in the virtual world and so having the motion stop suddenly without your actual head being blocked will be problematic.
But because of the way scs has implemented VR and tobii into the game, it means TIR, VR & Tobii are all tied together.

If you look at this line:
config_lines[243]: "mix headtron `trackiron | hmdon | eyeposon`"
That's "head tracking on", it doesn't matter which, TIR/VR/Tobii.

Then look at yaw input into the game:
config_lines[244]: "mix headtryaw `sel(trackiron, trackiryaw, 0) + sel(hmdon, hmdyaw, 0) + sel(eyeposon, eyeposyaw, 0)`"
That's "head tracking yaw" and it gets it's input for TIR or VR or Tobii.

So all 6 inputs (yaw,pitch,roll,x,y,z) are all shared by TIR/VR/Tobii.

But anyway, i'd still like you to try being blocked... it's just 3 line changes to your controls.sii file. It's not like you are wasting your time posting in scs forum and don't have time to try this! Go on, you know you want to.

I thought of an possible option to get 6 dof head tracking with the real scs g_cam_block.

And the option is if we can find a way to get 6 dof mouse movement in the game and then we can just make "mouse tracking" in our trackir software.

JHTrucker do you have any idea how to get 6 dof mouse movement in the game (ETS2 AND ATS) ?
