Thank you Mr B, but a team effort led by you. :D

Thank you also for introducing me to Shades in ETS2. Past few days have been experimenting and testing. Might now have the look I've always wanted. Also using 32xs and SGSSAA x 8. LOD -1.5, rest as first post.

@Road Runner

It's been a sheer pleasure being able to participate in this project and I must confess,
that I had almost given up on proper antialiased graphics for a long time, when you came
along. Now I feel I have an even more gorgeous graphics, than during the DX9 period!
So, many, many thanks for your trigger to get to this state of things! :D

Have also upgraded to MSAA x 8 and SGSSAA x 8 (LOD to 1.5). Sugest a trial - see what you think.
I owe you an answer on this and I must say after testing all 3 suggested pairs of AA params,

Code: Select all

1. -------------------------------
4x [4x Multisampling]
4x Sparse Grid Supersampling

2. -------------------------------
8xQ [8x Multisampling]
8x Sparse Grid Supersampling

3. -------------------------------
32xS [Combined: 2x2 SS + 8x MS]
8x Sparse Grid Supersampling
I think number 3 is the best, but there is so little difference between them, so it's really hard
to decide. Which is GREAT, because they are all GOOD!

BTW, shouldn't that LOD value be -1.5????
More than 4x will be completely ignored. This has been discussed in many forums. There is a reason its only used 4x. its impossible to see any "small" difference. Using 32x you will notice no difference at all. Thats why. 8x is also pointless. No matter what you "think" you seeing, it is just in your head. Its only applied 4x. Also, you cant use different level of supersampling. 32xS - 8x space grid will never work.

Yes, you're right, but as you said, those were the recommendations! I think I have quite
good resolution of the distant signs, because it's all about the LOD change there that
counts. As you might have seen, I'm in a conversation with Grimes about the rain/snow
problem at the SCS forum, in the Frosty topic! Maybe we can get a hunch out of that!
Using LOD 2 you can already see signs on the distance. LOD has NOTHING to do with draw distance.

Hello Bengan
I actually miss the solution to put the mirror quality to low in the first post. Or did I really miss reading it?
I am also happy that I managed. :D Because I really don't know much about these graphic settings. It is really a compliment to you, then I succeeded.

The graphic card that I use is an Asus GeForce GTX 670MX.
I use NPI as a Frame Rate Limiter = 60.

Thanks again.

Olaf
You cant just use nvidia inspector with that card. Dont bother. Nvidia inspector is designed for high end cards, using it with a laptop card or a low gama card only is going to give you headaches, terrible performance and other problems. I mean you can use nvidia inspector to apply things like vsync, or other parameters but forget about aplying AA through nvidia inspector. Your card just is not strong enough.

Yes, the mirror quality would be nice to get a solution for.
Honestly, rain in the cabin is a more bigger serious issue than having the mirror at low quality. Im amazed you guys give the mirror more importance than the rain... :shock:

I already knew about AA through nvidia inspector for DX11. This is not new, it comes from a few months back. The problem is, nobody uses this because as we discussed it generates other bigger problems. So, it doesnt work, and thats why nobody uses nvidia inspector on ETS2 these days. Only a very very tiny small group of players (you included) prefer better AA even if that breaks the game completely....

Also whats with all the nvidia inspector new versions'? every 10 hours a new version is released... ridiculous :lol: they release a new version everytime any driver is updated?
Windows 10 xxxx.xxx whatever is the last version... lol.

@BenganJ

I may not be able to explain well in English. I apologize in advance.

This is a story about a mod called Heads-Up DISPLAY GPS.
Please check here first. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... earchtext=

There are comments if the HUD appears to be outside when it rains. You can see it in the early old comments.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... earchtext=

I myself remember that when it rained, it bleed.
It seems that the problem is gone now.
Are there any hints here? I'm sorry if it's a big mistake, no matter what.

Searching for a solution to a problem often means that you have to try a lot of
different things of which most probably will be dead ends. You never know which
of the bunch of hints, ideas, that will be the solution in the end, so you have to
try them all. So, thank you for coming up with a similar problem that has now
obviously got a solution. I will have a look at it as soon as possible. I will let you
know what I find.

@Folks and whoever is interested

Today I have a new compatibility pattern for you to test,
This one:

Code: Select all

0x80040F72
I have tested it by setting Rain probability in the game to 100% and sleep,
so that the rain starts. As far as I can see, there's now NO rain in the cabin
anymore :!: :D And it doesn't seem to have any impact on AA or other stuff
either. PLEASE, test this as soon as possible :!: :!: :!: I recorded a video of
the test and here it is:

@BenganJ
Test 0x80040F72
There is rain in the room.
I sleep today. Good night!

EDIT:
The head-up GPS I mentioned earlier looked like this before. As if you were outside.

Okay, I'll watch the video! Sleep well my friend!

EDIT: Yep, sadly it shows when it's HEAVY rain. I didn't get any when I tested!
Thank you for testing! Back to the drawing board! :D
