@ExtremorPL & 09_KZ and all others too!

Guys, the day I can find a suitable huge resolution (21600x10800 typical) equirectangular
road network map, I will create a replacement of SCS ME background image, covering at
least the same area as the satellite ones. Sadly I haven't found that yet, so if you happen
to stumble on one, then DL it and let me know. Then our problems with that department
will be over! :D

EDIT: It's a question of a plain bitmap, showing the road network of the whole world!

When you found a suitable huge resuloltion........and the problem with that department is gone.....then, yes then it`s a cause to be happy, or not ????????

Don't worry, be happy! If that happens, then we will have no problems
with getting the different maps, in the standard scale, fit exactly on
the satellite BG images!

You can try to do it yourself :roll: :D

@09_KZ

Sure, if I just knew how. I have both Maperative and QGIS installed here.
QGIS I know can work with lots of different input data and databases. It
can also deal with map projections, so maybe that is a tool to check out
for this task. I'm not sure Maperative can handle map projections, or am
I wrong there?

@ BenganJ

Unfortunately, I did not deal with any of these programs, and I do not know their capabilities. But when I have free time, I will look at them. (If by this time you do not do a miracle) :D

@ExtremorPL

WHAT? I haven't done anything! :D

EDIT: What idiot coined the expression "Trial and error"? I hate him!
In QGIS I opened a OpenStreetMap project, set the map projection
to Europe Lambert Conic, then tried to save it as a bitmap of mere
16384x16384, but ended up with a PNG-image with a resolution of
481488x16384 :shock: Guess if I could load that image into a plane
image viewer, IrfanView in this case :?: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :roll:
I think I have to read the manual :!: DAMN :evil:

@ExtremorPL

DON'T LAUGH! That I can do myself! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :roll: :roll:
Mate, don't count on it soon, but I'm sort of on it, the curious type you
