Well, that's the beauty with the smaller areas, you will get rid of
the projection problem! You will get an approximate correct BG!

:cry:

The Great Steppe needs new background and the same thing with my mod. I want to have road connection with The Great Steppe and YKSRSK so creating several backgrounds for some area isn't a good idea. Just one for me with Turkmenistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and maybe Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan later and another with Kazakhstan for 09_KZ.

@ ExtremorPL

I am with BenganJ on that as smaller BG images you use in the ME
would be better I think I'm no mapper but large images would be harder I think
start with small areas to test it out as you go and good luck to you hope to
see some work from you on your mapping project.

maybe this can help

eritive and OpenStreetMap. I'm not good in making background things. So I'm asking you, maybe you have some ideas how to create that background? I want to cover with that background Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and a part of China and India. :D ;)

you thought how much time it will take :lol:

@dOOmERdaZe

I saw it and it didn't helped me too much, just with Maperitive. I can stay with Turkmenistan for now but what about The Great Steppe? And as I said multiple time before, I'm not good in those things and I'll stay with my old background for now. I don't have willingness to do it because I spent on old one much time and it wasn't perfect (even quality was too bad haha).

Right, therefor I say! Take it one step at a time, maximum one country
at a time, connections you can always do after the different parts is
finished.

it would be possible to calculate the correct coordinates of the main cities, then simply place them on a world map. then it will simply draw roads from city to city. As an option...

@ExtremorPL & 09_KZ and all others too!

Guys, the day I can find a suitable huge resolution (21600x10800 typical) equirectangular
road network map, I will create a replacement of SCS ME background image, covering at
least the same area as the satellite ones. Sadly I haven't found that yet, so if you happen
to stumble on one, then DL it and let me know. Then our problems with that department
will be over! :D

EDIT: It's a question of a plain bitmap, showing the road network of the whole world!
