@Tapir

Did I say in my post that Middle East was in there? No, I didn't!
Cyprus there are from Promods itself!

@All
To clear things a bit.
1. SCS Vanilla based combos is already solved.
2. Promods combos WITHOUT Middle East Addon is what we're dealing with here and is solved too, I think!?
3. Next on the agenda is to see if any of these two solutions also work good enough with Promods combo WITH Middle East.
4. What I NEVER will tackle is maps with non-standard scale. They will be as they get. PERIOD!

Some good work there but I would love to see some better aligning like Murmansk being on the coast, Cyprus being a little lower, Balkans just a little shifted up and right so the borders match, Vestmannaeyjabær should be an Island and overall the map should be shifted a little east and UK south. As for the image itself, when you align the mainland correctly you will need to move the islands, do little border tweaks, fix Spain and fix northern Baltic Sea region.

@Kaperios

Mate, you're welcome to do whatever you like, when you eventually get your
hands on this. I won't do much more now, so you will have a lot to do. While
you're at it, re-scale ROS, SRMap and then reconnect The Great Steppe and
all other addons and road connections! The community will thank you, mate!

BTW, where's the promised images from Ölandsbron?

So it does seem that when you place Middle East in, that's when Cyprus get's shifted, can anyone else confirm this too? Probably has to do with whatever "trick" they did to keep the rest of Europe aligned while combining the two different projections.

As for the little bit of road here or there in the water, that's not to do with the map's aligment, if you start messing with the alignment it creates more problems. Mappers just sometimes want extra room to work, and it's always been a thing where there would be some roads in the water on the map, even with the default map background. Svalbard could be moved and adding Middle East will need some figuring out, but this is far better than any background map we've ever had before.

@vuchor

Yes, something happens with Cyprus when adding the ME addon,
but as you say, that has the Promods team (Scul) more or less
confirmed! I can warp, scale and reposition areas in the background
images, but that is VERY tedious work, and honestly, why should
I compensate for maps in a non-standard scale. Further, other maps
have then connected to those with non-standard scale and thereby
just made the whole thing worse! Somewhere you have to set a
limit!

@id777

RusMap doesn't need any special treatment, it is an addon to either SCS Vanilla
or Promods at the moment, and it's in standard scale 1:19, so it should work all
the way already! :D Regarding The Great Steppe and actually ALL maps the problem
is that they are once made when SCS used another map projection. The background
image you use in the Map Editor is defining how the map later is placed out. And as
I said, the projection has changed! But the biggest problem is the non-standard scale
maps, like SRMap and ROS!
