Nope, I wish I had more time for it, but used as it is presently,
the further away from the center of the map you have data,
the more it will deviate from a valid position! :( :( :(

Hehehehehehe, well it isn't easy I can say. The previous assumption that one should
have to rotate or tilt the images, isn't the correct solution I now think. ExtremorPL
is probably right, some sort of map projection form of distortion is probably needed,
and further, some sort of extra treatment for the British Islands is also needed. Here
you have the mod in it's present state showing together with my Promods based combo.

EDIT: Does anyone know if SCS has applied some sort of map projection to their map
view background images?

@dOOmERdaZe

You asked how I created the 4 sub-pictures for the map view. This is how I do it, a procedure taking around 2 minutes.

1. I start out with a full picture one level higher in resolution than what I plan to create. In my case 8192x8192.
2. I then create a selection with a size of 4096x4096 up in the left corner.
3. I copy that selection and create a new pic from clipboard, save it as DDS-image with name map0.dds.
4. I then move that selection down to the left corner, you might have to lock the image layer during the move.
5. Copy that new selection, create from clipboard, save as map1.dds.
6. ....... you get it from there I take it.
7. When all 4 saved, I scale down and save the original picture to the end resolution of 4096x4096 as map.dds.
8. Now I have the whole set of images created as 4096x4096 ones. Mission accomplished!

@Folks

How about this as a starting point instead? This is more of a projection on the globe!
