[TOOL] Custom ATS/ETS2 FOV & Multimon Settings Calculator
Re: [TOOL] Custom ATS/ETS2 FOV & Multimon Settings Calculator
I physically moved my monitors vertically, adjusted the in game seat, and got things to look a bit better. However, now vehicles "stretch" if I'm perpendicular to a road and they travel from the right monitor to the center monitor.
I'll try splitting the right monitor into 2 and see if that helps.
Thanks

@a1337cookie I think I got it, I moved my monitors from perpendicular to the center to this:
and now my view looks like this:
and vehicles are no longer stretching as they travel from monitor to monitor.
BTW, thanks for making the script, its excellent to use!

@Yeldawg - Glad to see it worked out for you. It's good to get confirmation that the console script output works well. If you're happy with that view, then great, and have fun trucking!
If you do want to minimize distortion though, you could technically get closer to mathematically correct. From what I can tell, you're at a further head position than what's entered into the calculator, so the edges are appearing somewhat stretched, and the world scale appears a bit small.
But to correct it, you'd either have to move the monitors closer or reduce the FOV, which you may not want to do. Totally fine to just stick with what you have if that's what you prefer.

When making changes and using the console command multimon reload it only works one time. Is this how it is or can i reload it multiple times without exiting the game? If so, how do i do it, because fter it reloads once the game doesnt let me reload it again.

@arturbastos - I see what you mean, when you manually make changes to the multimon config file, the behaviour is how you described. The fix is to run the command multimon save every time after a multimon reload. Then if you edit the file and reload again, it will update. I'm not sure if this is intended behaviour, I feel like it didn't used to work like this, but I could be misremembering.
Using the console script output in Hybrid Calculator does not have this issue, the commands to edit the multimon values immediately updates the view without needing to use reload. I put the reload command at the end just in case, but it also can cause this issue, where if you try to manually edit the multimon file, reloading won't update the view. You'd have to multimon save first, then make your edits, then reload. I'll be removing that line from the console script output in the next update.
Thank you for notifying me of this issue.

Im not sure how to use the script mode to be honest
was hoping you can help me with my setup though. At the bezels, the outside monitors seem to be too far in and cutting some of the screen. I attempted to play with some values but couldnt get it dialed in. Thank you in advance!

Re: [TOOL] Custom ATS/ETS2 FOV & Multimon Settings Calculator
@arturbastos - Alright, here's what I noticed.
- Looks like you just want the view to be centered. In that case, don't use auto alignment, leave those cells blank and set your lateral offset to 0.
- Maybe you tried to adjust the bezels using the pixel offsets? That's for if your displays are not aligned in your Windows display settings. Unless that's the case, leave those values blank.
- To get your bezels aligned, try setting the bezel widths to 0 or negative values. I believe that's what you need to do for the bezel free kit.
- It seems one of the normalized width output values got deleted by accident. You can fix it by copy pasting from the cell above to re-apply the formula.
- Once fixed, the console script output should show a list of console commands. If you want to use it, follow the instructions written there or in my guide.
