is it really mandatory to use the Background Map exactly for the Romania Extended (and when yes where can I download it?) or can I just use the ,,Promods High Quality Map Background''?

is mandatory to use a background mod even you dont use Roex, but other maps.

There a 2 background mods, 1 without EAA, 1 with EAA to use.

Edit:

Other ETS2 or ATS backgrounds, you find here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20

For HUGE combo maps, that will mean a risk of a game crash when entering the World Map: Crash fix mod: https://sharemods.com/8p9xpdozm6f7/CRAS ... S.scs.html
Place the fix mod right above the Background mod.

You have it right in the mediapack you have downloaded for roextended....
