[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Do you mean this parameter
Texture filtering - LOD Bias (DX) ----------------- '-1.5000
after change
Texture filtering - LOD Bias (DX) ----------------- '-3.0000

Yes, but if you read my post above, you will see that using those settings I mentioned, setting the LOD is no longer necessary and should be 0. Setting the negative LOD value is only necessary when using "4x [4x Multisampling] or 2x [2x Multisampling].

Thanks Brotherblack-coffee wrote: ↑May 20th, 2021, 3:18 pmAfter further testing and educated tinkering, the conclusion is that the best setting for best image quality is the combination of "16xS [Combined: 2x2 SS + 4x MS]" + 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling. VERY important, any setting ending with xS has auto LOD adjustment! In other words no need to screw around with the LOD manually and let it be 0. For added clarity you can also use Sharpen 0.5/Ignore film grain 1.0 from NCP.
Yes, this setting is giving me better shadow effect compare to the 4x setting.
Two queries
In NCP should I change sharpen setting in Global setting or Euro truck tab?
when you say ignore film grain in this case, should I change 0 instead of 0.17 (By default value) or 0.17 is kept as it.

@t2patel
I can guarantee that you don't want all your games to have that Image sharpening, so keep it ONLY
for ETS2 and ATS if you have that one too!
EDIT: BTW, how did it go with Frame Rate Limiting I suggested? I haven't had a report on that yet!

@t2patel Bengan is right, you should use sharpening on a case by case basis, so just enable it for the game and not globally. If you want to completely ignore film grain, then it should be all the way right at 1.
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Greetings Bengan.
Still struggling with the FPS issue so keep changing my setting and chacking.
Now I have locked 72 FPS from NPI (Frame rate limiter v3) and no change in NCP.
I have disabled G Sync and running my monitor at a fixed rate of 144 Hz...Deleted all modded trucks and using default truck so FPS is improved a lot but still fluctuating between 30 to 72 FPS depending on the location.
Graphic and Shadow is now looking awesome...all credit goes to you...
Thank you very much @Black coffee for the reply.

@Keiseiw74
Try lowering the sharpening value if set. I bet you also have HEAVY movements in fences,
when driving and in certain angles. That is, what I think, Moire patterns. Report back!

sharpening is turned off completely and it happens, with the same turned on, it also occurs on mesh fences
