Almost 2 years ago, Nvidia enabled the option in the driver so that (almost) any Freesync monitor works and behaves as it were a G-Sync...

In this case, I think black-coffee is correct.
It should make G-SYNC available for FreeSync enabled monitors.
Check the driver version and if it is 417.71 or later, you can use it.

Well not quite, it's a difference between being "officially" recognized by Nvidia and not being. Most Freesync monitors are not yet recognized, so is mine, despite of that it works perfectly well, don't really know why this is somehow still news... END of story.
