[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)

Yes, Nvidia Freestyle is totally independent of this NPI scheme, but if you
see ANY antialiasing options in there, DO NOT USE THEM!

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Thank you! But why shouldn't I use any antialiasing options?

You already have good AA with the NPI scheme, so why ruin that?
It's for the same reason we instruct you to disable in game SMAA!

Ah ok. Thanks! I don't have much experience with graphic improvements in ETS2/ATS.
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Because what we are trying to do is to IMPROVE the antialiasing, with means to also reduce the shimmering present in shiny surfaces.therobloxians1119 wrote: ↑April 10th, 2021, 2:05 amThank you! But why shouldn't I use any antialiasing options?
The Antialiasing provided by the game is useless, and the antialiasing provided byt third party programs are also useless in this matter.
Maybe you will get an acceptable antialiasing using third party programs, but you are not going to get rid of that shimmering, that is
what makes the experience the worst. Honestly i could live with bad aliasing (to a point) if didnt have to endure all that shimmering ruining the landscapes
and driving experience.
And thats the main reason to use the npi scheme. Honestly if i dont use the npi scheme its like playing a videogame from 1990. Its disgusting.
But people apparently like it... go figure.
Windows 10 xxxx.xxx whatever is the last version... lol.

Thank you for that info tantalus!
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
does anyone experiences some noise when applying a sharpening filter like neg lod bios or the ncp sharpen filter? seems to me that with 1.40 i get noise on my screen (especially on distant signs and the cab of my truck (ats))

That's exactly what I've been talking about here for quite some time,
but I'm calling it blur instead, ruining the negative LOD bias for me!

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Bengan what has to do the negative lod bias with blurring the image? thats news for me.

Normally you can control at what distance the texture LOD changes will take place
by changing the Negative LOD Bias value. Most impact you see on distant signs, earlier
readable. With the new Lighting System there seems to be a blurring of distant areas,
which is ruining the LOD bias settings. My two cents!
