@JHTrucker
I tested your settings in ETS2 and it helped a bit, so I'm going to test some more!

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@BenganJ - "helped a bit"... what is the problem you'd like to solve?
For me and my posted changes it feels ok (ATS & ETS2), nothing "whites out" in the sun and the nights are dark on unlit roads, like they should be. There's mid distance blur that's more noticeable at night on up coming road signs, so perhaps that's something to 'fix'?
My TIR setup has pitch disabled (for years) when in cab and only auto enables as my head moves out through the window and so i don't get constant light level changes in the cab.
The dash back light should auto reduce it's level as the game is turning day to night, for me 100% day and 70% night. Whilst those values may not be for everyone i'm sure the ratio will be similar, 90/60 80/50 etc.
I have sleep turned off (from day one) as i like long runs through day/night cycles only stopping for fuel. So having now to pause the game to fiddle with the dash back light is annoying.
Oh, and the traffic light colours...
But in general i'm happy with the update, it is what it is.
For me "what SCS should do or shouldn't do" is a pointless debate on a forum they don't read, so let's just try and make the best of it!

@JHTrucker
Well, for me the most horrible change with the new lighting System is that I feel
they have blurred things a lot and how the heck do one fix that. Sharpening even
more will probably only dig out more flickering and that has been worse too by
this new system, I think. I have sort of lost interest in running the game now and
am mostly doing so for support purposes only!

I am not sure if the whinting is my problem or a problem of ETS2 and ATS....JHTrucker wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2021, 6:05 pm@BenganJ - "helped a bit"... what is the problem you'd like to solve?

I need some reference. I will post a schreenshot in a few days. Maybe you can tell me if you think it is okay?

I agree. The fact, i said it some posts back, im still on 1.39 but i barely play anymore. Im too dissapointed by SCS at this point.
Im having a break from ETS2 until Iberia arrives, i will then upgrade to 1.40 to see if i definitely stop playing this o i will give it a try.

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Everything is pointless. Because the official forums are so crunky that its absurd.
You cant say negative feedback there, or propose something SCS should not do. You risk your account to be banned. I know, sounds stupid but its what it is.
Thats why you barely read any negative comments there, and people writting there are always the same patronizing players over and over.
If SCS read the official forums and they base their doings on it, we are screwed then. We are never going to see an improved and
updated game, ever.

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Speaking of SCS, I remember I posted a suggestion about putting up an epilepsy warning for players who suffer from epilepsy. The new lighting made the thunder flash too bright and sudden. The next day, I can't find the post. Clearly been deleted by moderators.

@RunnyPilot
Please people, this topic is not a complaining on SCS one in general. I tried to at least keep my complaints
to something very related to this topic. Keep unrelated stuff to the Off topic section. Thank you!

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@olaf28 - My previous post with the settings i use also stated "everyone's monitor is differently setup" and so there lies the problem.
But if you use the attached "test pattern.jpg", view it full screen and adjust your monitor brightness & contrast so you can see 17 vertical bars from black to white and all equal width then that's a start. Assuming you then had to make adjustments, see what the game looks like now. This isn't a full solution! Just a bit of help if you want it. EDIT:
Also my 10+ year old monitors have 4 display modes, general, picture, movie & games.
With 'games mode', for example, the blacks are much darker (shadows) and the whites much whiter as it creates a basic hdr effect for non hdr games. I use just 'general mode' so the monitor isn't doing anything extra to the picture that i don't want.
@BenganJ - I'll see if i can remove the blur process rather than sharpen it.
