YeOldeSeaCaptain, i dont see anything strange in your video. It looks like npi is not really working? i could not tell since its a youtube video.

I also dont see anything out of extraordinary on shadows, as i told you before, shadows in this game are awful. They cant be improved in any way. The most you can do is to set a higher
resolution, but even then they will still look awful. Specially shadows coming from fences, cables, sometimes from the interior of the truck...

No matter how good npi does its work, you will always still have some shimmering and flickering here and there (flickering cant be avoided not even with npi must be fixed within the game engine).

Also, in a compressed youtube video we cant really see the work of npi and if those shimmering lines are out of place.
Windows 10 xxxx.xxx whatever is the last version... lol.

@YeOldeSeaCaptain

Please, can you post your config.cfg as a text file by attaching it here?
I can't compare a text file to an image!

EDIT: This is how to attach a file to your post, disregard that it is for the game log.

@BenganJ
Here you go! Thank you.
my config.txt
I have been experimenting a bit and have seen some improvements, but your input is always welcomed. I did, essentially, scrap my NPI settings, redid them, and generated a new config file. The attachment was my backup that I was using earlier when I made the videos.

@tantalus
I've been trying to examine other players videos to make sure I am not fruitlessly attempting to improve my settings when I've already maxed out what the engine has to offer. Totally makes sense that if you are not seeing anything out of the ordinary, then I've probably reached the peak. I think it's about finding inner peace with the lines and shadows, :grin:

@Bengan and @JHTrucker

Some have an issue with the new lightnings system. DUH!
I am getting an issue with the fact that light is brighter in my rear mirrors then throw the windshield/Window
Day and night
And in the desert the sun really is bright :smile:

I have the setting for the mirror on medium. To have AA
Setting the windows to High settings also gets rid of the white mirrors at night, or bright. But then I have no AA

Anyone who has this problem also?

I'm not sure of the cause, but when I load up my custom saved profile (everything is still done via the OP) I have to change "Frame Rate Limiter Mode" from 0x00000088 to Default and click apply. Upon doing this I get an unhanlded exception error.

It reads "DRS_SetSetting failed: NVAPI_SETTING_NOT_FOUND. Any ideas? On the latest current Nvidia drivers downloaded earlier for Outriders.

Push comes to shove, I'll remove those old profiles and reapply them but I can't see it doing much good.

When I select the game (ETS2/ATS) from the drop down list, I get "default" applied initially, but I then lose some needed settings. It's the lesser of two evils it seems.

@Digital X

Do you REALLY have thee proper combination of NPI version and Nvidia driver version?
From first post!

Code: Select all

Link to version 2.3.0.10 of Nvidia Profile Inspector, aimed at Nvidia Driver up to 442.74: https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfil ... g/2.3.0.10
Link to version 2.3.0.12 of Nvidia Profile Inspector, aimed at Nvidia Driver from 445.75: https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfil ... g/2.3.0.12
Link to version 2.3.0.13 of Nvidia Profile Inspector, aimed at Nvidia Driver from 460.79: https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfil ... g/2.3.0.13

My current driver is newer than what's listed. My NPI version is showing 3.50.

I don't really want to roll back driver versions for one effect if that's the case.

Edit: I'll have a clean start with all of this, only noticed it quite recently.

It also wouldn't help that somehow the NPI I got was modified by someone... I have the one in the OP now. Thanks.

@Digital X

You have the WRONG NPI mate, go to the first post and DL the correct NPI version for your present Nvidia driver, v2.3.0.13!
