:cool: :smoke: When you get a chance, someone remind to him; Ambient Occlusion cannot be used (or does nothing even if enabled) unless "Game Specific Ambient Occlusion Compatibility Flag" is defined. :nono: :punish:

Have any of you experience tweaking the config for the effect of rain on roads and other traffic?

I came across these settings in the config
uset g_rain_reflect_hookups "1"
uset g_rain_reflect_actor "1"
uset g_rain_reflect_traffic "1"
uset g_rain_reflect_cache "1"
uset g_rain_reflection "3"

I am curious what the consequences are when If I change these settings? Also with regard to the number of fps?
If not, I will test myself. But I also would like hear the opinion of @JHTrucker :grin: :grin:

"Game Specific Ambient Occlusion Compatibility Flag" is defined.

@Begnan, I am not quite clear what you mean by this?
Where should I set this then. At the moment I have SSAO off in game. But what I understand the Ambient Occlusion setting in NPI is of no use now either. Or did I miss something?

@olaf28

Here's what the SCS Wiki documentation says.

For g_rain_reflection (Rain reflection quality) the possible values are, with 3 as default.

Code: Select all

0	no reflection
1	cube reflection
2	planar with fadeout
3	planar with cube crossfade
All the other parameters are switches, turning the feature ON/OFF, default ON.
So, go on and set the g_rain_reflection to 1,2,3 or even 0 if you want to see how dull it
will be without reflection.

EDIT: Rain reflection will have an impact on FPS, the lower value and the fewer features enabled the higher FPS, I think!

That post was my involvement in an allegorical way in the interpretation about of the 3rd person that the @Arayan's mentioned.

anyway, that "flag" bits for ETS2 is; "0x00000032(FIFA14)" (as mentioned in the first post, too.)
After inserting that HEXadecimal values to the "Ambient Occlusion compatibilty" area via NPI, you can use/enable Ambient Occlusion ability.

@olaf28 & @BeeAntOS

Sadly SSAO, set either or both in NPI and game will NOT work if you use NPI AA.
You will get an effect, but it is NOT correct!

@BeeAntOS

I noted that! The sad thing is that so far we don't have a SSAO solution that works properly
when using NPI AA scheme. Using SSAO through NPI or game settings will show a bad result,
so I recommend disabling SSAO on both places!

@BegnanJ and @BeeAntOS
Thank you for the clarification.
I checked and I still had these settings in my NPI enabled,
--- Ambient Occlusion compatibility ------------------ '0x00000032(FIFA14)'
--- Ambient Occlusion setting ------------------------- 'High quality'
--- Ambient Occlusion usage -------------------------- 'Enabled'

So if I understand correctly I have to disable them via the Ambient Occlusion Compatibility Flag like this?
--- Ambient Occlusion compatibility ------------------ '0x00000000

Btw, I can still see that the Ambient Occlusion settings are suggested on page 1.
