...but as Roex & Rusmap were about not being compatible to Promods anymore, things have - positively - changed
I know this is a very different case, but as today is only today, may be tomorrow...;)

It all depends on whether the creator of the Red Sea map has used Promods assets without including them in his own map.
If that's the case it will not run properly WITHOUT Promods! Check it out by loading the Red Sea map alone in a profile.

Red Sea Map Version 1.1

This package contains all the definition files, models, and map sectors of the Red Sea Map.

The Red Sea Map contains an extension south of Taba from ProMods Middle East which will follow a road down the Sinai and into East Africa.

Version 1.1: Expansion of Sinai, Sharm el-Sheikh

Required DLC's and Mods
- All SCS DLCs (Going East!, Scandinavia, Vive La France !, Italia, Beyond the Baltic Sea, Road to the Black Sea)
- ProMods 2.50
- ProMods Middle East (PMME)

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yes this will be ProMods Middle East Dependent due to the road extension south of Taba and the usage of ProMods Assets, terrain profiles, and road signs. I am a supporter of the ProMods project and feel ETS2 should not go without ProMods, so this is something I do not foresee changing. The beauty of it is that thanks to RoEX and Project Turkey, you can drive down to Africa without the use of ferry (although initially we'll have a ferry between Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada, eventually the 700km road up and down the Suez will be built.

@ B738Pilot only posted on Promods for version 1.0 because this is indeed a Promods Addon. But in order to draw more attention to this map and to provide more support, I have suggested that he start a Topic here as well.
The start of the Red Sea map is good and it has a lot of potential. They are small steps ... but also with small steps you get to the other side of Africa :grin: :grin:
And who knows if the map grows, there will come a time when he can do without the assets and models of Promods. But that is not the intention for the time being

I hope you all will give him the support he deserves.

See, this is why I'm so happy I have Olaf on board our team as our Support Specialist! That is a great idea long term for sure (about becoming independent from PMME and PM).

And I also am a big fan of RoExtended by the way, in fact, I learned a lot of mapping thanks to Arayas' video, so I'm glad to have a topic running here on ROEX. Great community, and a very enjoyable map for sure!

So here's the thing I tell my students as a flight instructor...becoming a pilot requires one long term huge goal, but also a bunch of small goals treated as milestones along the way. The same thing applies to my map project. The long term goal is simple - Complete East Africa map from Nuweiba down to Cape Town, South Africa and everything in between. By that time I'm sure I will have a team of mappers (I already have one in mind I'm grooming to help map a nation) and a team as large as ROEX or ProMods, we may even rename the map "East Africa Extension" or something. But, we got to reach our smaller goals in the meantime. Short term goals are finish the Initial Map Project Plan (down to Salif, Yemen and the cities highlighted on the map), then from there we can extend towards the Nile in both Egypt and Sudan, down the Red Sea coastline on the Saudi Side to road connect Yemen, we have Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, Somaliland/Puntland etc, we have so much potential as Olaf stated.

I am so grateful to have a nice working relationship with ProMods. It's not an official partnership let me be clear about that, but the developers are super friendly, approachable, and supportive of ProMods Add On Maps and openly allow to use their assets in making a map.

So yeah guys, enjoy each update as they come. As with any map product and project, each update will come with more exciting features and cities. Be patient, be positive, and enjoy seeing ETS2 expand. Or don't, that's cool too. :)
