Re: My game crashed! What can i do?
Hi All,
I've been experimenting with mods recently and have been making a map combo setup similar to Trucker Wombat - Promods/Rusmap/Southern Region/North Mac. Rework/Grand-Steppe/Roex/Project Turkey I've also been looking into some gameplay mods, and have the Jellycat Traffic and Cargo packs installed. Today, I decided to try a realistic lighting mod which seemed to work however within 5 minutes of playing the game crashed. I reloaded and took off the lighting mod however the game crashed on load. I rolled back to a previous save, and the same crash happened in the same place - outside Wroclaw.
I have attached the crash log, could someone decode and advise? I feel it could be a def file... Prior to adding this lighting mod, I had not experienced any crashes.
https://pastebin.com/5eUPW1iH
Thanks in advance!

Re: My game crashed! What can i do?
Your load order is good, regarding maps, i dont know about other mods, you can check 1.37 compatibility yourself.
First, to avoid random crashes please edit the config.cfg file and make this change.
I also recommend that you move this mod to the very top of Mod Manager:
ETS2_LAMB_UNIV_EURASIA_COLOR_BG_MAP.scs
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20
First, to avoid random crashes please edit the config.cfg file and make this change.
Code: Select all
From:
uset r_buffer_page_size "10"
To:
uset r_buffer_page_size "30"

Re: My game crashed! What can i do?
Thanks for responding, and I've made the changes as you suggested. I'm wondering if this is a bug with the map combo - I've taken off all the mods asides from the ones for the Eurasia combo as Trucker Wombat suggests and when I roll back to a previous section of road or use the console to teleport to Wroclaw and start this stretch of road, I get the same crash at the same point every time. I haven't had any crashes with ETS2 asides from this in the ten or so hours I've been using this setup.Arayas wrote: ↑June 4th, 2020, 8:58 pmYour load order is good, regarding maps, i dont know about other mods, you can check 1.37 compatibility yourself.

If anyone wants to test it for themselves, it is directly south of Wroclaw on the E40 between the two interchanges left and right of the city. It happens in the same spot each time.
It looks like the crash log is saying it's as issue with road lines? Interestingly there are changes to the road textures between the highway and the slip roads on these interchanges, not sure if it's related but could be something to do with it...

There is a way to tell us exactly where this happens and that is that you hit F11 key right before that crash occurs.
A popup will show up where you can write something regarding the problem, then you hit the REPORT button. Then
in the folder one level above all your mods, you will find a file named bugs.txt. In there you find the text you wrote
and the exact coordinates you had when hitting F11. Post that line of information here! And a NEW game log is always
a good thing to give us too!

Re: My game crashed! What can i do?
Thanks Bengan, I will do this tomorrow - I'll also try it on my 'test' profile to make sure. Thanks for your advice so far guys.BenganJ wrote: ↑June 4th, 2020, 10:32 pm@playthoseblues

Re: My game crashed! What can i do?
Hi Guys,
Ok so did some experimenting with my 'Test' profile, this has the following maps -Promods (+ Middle East) Rusmap/Southern Region/Grand Steppe and I had the same crash happen along the same stretch of road. Here is my most up to date game log however from what I can see it doesn't record the crash, merely up to me teleporting to Wroclaw before starting along the stretch of road.
https://pastebin.com/HadG828r
The coordinates for this stretch of road are [05/06/2020 18:49] (sec+0005-0001);22196.4;9.35561;-966.223;-1.81995;-0.121876 and heading eastbound. I was unable to record the coordinates at the exact time of the crash.
Also I wouldn't call the 'crash' it's definition in the traditional sense. I will basically drive along that stretch of road, somewhere along the road it will then pause, all sound cut out, stutter once and return to desktop. Steam will then save to cloud and I can restart without issue.
On my 'modded' profile, I played for 2 hours last night in North Italy without any issues, and with a recent iGPU driver update, seems smoother than before!
I'm stumped!

Can you please add the following line to your Steam Launch Options?
Am I correct when I say you have 32GB memory? If that is true you can even use the following instead.
Make another test and due to the argument added, -unlimitedlog, the log might become complete too!
EDIT: No I see that you only have 8GB now, so use this instead:

Code: Select all
-64bit -nointro -unlimitedlog -mm_pool_size 8000 -mm_max_resource_size 32 -mm_max_tmp_buffers_size 1000
Code: Select all
-64bit -nointro -unlimitedlog -mm_pool_size 16000 -mm_max_resource_size 32 -mm_max_tmp_buffers_size 1000

You're correct, I have 32GB RAM and have made the change to the steam log. Interestingly I haven't been able to produce the crash on this stretch of road?! I've tried this on both my normal and test profile as well. Were you expecting the above solution to work?
