Introduce
Hello there is a simple and simple tutorial on how to add support for localized names to the mod.
SCS added this feature to the 1.33 game version so it doesn't work in 1.32 etc.
It's really easy and takes no more than 5 minutes to learn.
1. Add localization key to existing definition.
First of all, make sure you have added this feature to your definition.
Here is an example of the city of Warsaw (file def / city / warszawa.sii).
city_data: city.warszawa
{
city_name: "Warsaw" local city name, do not translate!
city_name_localized: "@@ warszawa @ @" The localization key is: Should be in @@ s. Learn more later.
Country: Poland
}
It is also an example of a country. Poland in this case (def / country / poland.sii file)
country_data: country.data.poland
{
country_id: 8
Name: "Polska" local country name, do not translate!
name_localized: "@@ poland @ @" Here is the localization key. Should be in @@ s. Learn more later.
country_code: "PL"
}
Do not use special characters (such as #, $,% or ą, ś, ć, etc.) and uppercase letters in localization keys. And don't use more than 14 characters (there are no restrictions, but in my opinion it is better not to use keys that are too long).
I left the folder open with the translated city (and country) and need it later.
2. Local folder.
I am not able to extract this folder from game files using normal scs file extractor. I don't know why. It is not needed anyway.
Open the mod folder. Do not go into the same folder as def or material. Create a new folder and rename it Locale.
Open it and create a new folder. This folder must be named by language ID.
Here is a list of all language IDs: SCS Wiki:
bg_bg, ca_es, cs_cz, da_dk, de_de, el_gr, en_gb, en_us, es_es, es_la, et_ee, eu_es, fi_fi, fr_fr, gl_es, hr_hr, hu_hu, it_it, ja_jp, ka_ge, ko_kr, lt_lt_si, pl_no, pl_no , pt_br, pt_pt, ro_ro, ru_ru, sk_sk, sl_sl, sr_sp, sr_sr, sv_se, tr_tr, uk_uk, vi_vn, zh_cn, zh_tw
It is also a list of all supported languages. The mod cannot be translated into Persian or Arabic.
The folder name is ru_ru because we want to translate the mod into Russian.
Open the file and create a new file called local_module.whatuwant.sii. Here whatuwant can be replaced with anything you want, but you can't use special characters etc.
Here is the file structure to follow.

SiiNunit
{
localization_db: .localization
{
#TIME ZONES
key []: "tz_aft"
val []: "AFT" #Afghanistan Time
#AFGHANISTAN
key []: "afghanistan"
val []: "Афганистан"
#POLAND
key []: "poland"
val []: "Польша"
key []: "warszawa"
val []: "Варшава"
}
}
key []: "poland" Here are the keys. Copy from definition without @@ s.
val []: "Польша" Here are the translated names. You can use special characters and uppercase letters. You can use more than 12 characters.
This is all you have to do. You can add more lines if needed. You can also add localized time zone names and more. Try experimenting.
Localization must be added manually to all languages. If you don't add a language, the game uses localization keys, not English variants. If you can't afford to translate the mods into each language, I recommend at least copying the English version and translating it into the rest of the language. You can use Google Maps to translate the mod into an unfamiliar language. Please change the language on that site.
This tutorial will be updated and improved with more features.
good luck! :D

Hey folks!
As YKSRSK changed its name into "Project Turkey" and there have been some updates of it, "Project Turkey 1.0 CITY NAMES IN KOREAN" is ready!!

Project Turkey 1.0 - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fh1r8v ... y-jOsj9-gl
1. Köyceğiz(쾨이제이즈[Koe-I-Je-I-Z]) → 코이제이즈[Ko-I-Je-I-Z] (Because ETS2 cannot recognize the letter '쾨(Koe)', I had to change it to '코(Ko)')

Re: KOREAN city names for some maps
A little advice.
Open the file RusMap-model2_v2.2.1.scs\locale\ko_kr\local_module.rusmap_cities.sii
and translate the names of the cities in it:
Translate the lines "val []", and then place the file above RusMap-model2_v2.2.1.scs, or simply replace it.
Open the file RusMap-model2_v2.2.1.scs\locale\ko_kr\local_module.rusmap_cities.sii
and translate the names of the cities in it:
Code: Select all
key []: "murmansk_rm"
val []: "Murmansk"
Code: Select all
key []: "murmansk_rm"
val []: "무르만스크"
