Hi all. So sorry if this has been asked before (probably has), but I do not possess the energy to scour 223 pages of posts to find an answer. Sorry again if you have to repeat yourself!

Everything seems to be fine graphics wise, no crashes, nothing odd, the only thing is that my desktop background theme is black.

Also, when entering the truck configurator, the screen is black as well. I wanted to change my cabin accessories but couldn't because I had no idea what they would look like in the cabin. The UI is there, the options to select the different positions of the items is there, it's just that the image is black.

@yayokb

Are you using ReShade? Do you have correct multimon_config.sii file installed?
I seem to remember that Win10 users had some problems with desktop theme,
maybe some other person can chime in on that, as I don't run Win10 myself!

The security problem was solved

=====================================================
Untested, just saying...
Another option for "trackir no block issue" would be to use it with mouse emulation.
Head tracking controls the mouse. the mouse controls the in game view, "g_cam_block 1" stops head movement when window is closed.
In game trackir option would have to be disabled so mouse (trackir) does the movements.
I suspect it'll be a nightmare to navigate the game menus using your head!

Google says:
FaceTrackNoIR · FreeTrack (TrackIR compatible) · MouseLook ... So moving your head left, can move the mouse-pointer left etc.

My trackir software does come with a TIR2mouse.exe (never noticed until now) but gives an error when i click it, so i can't try it. It may only work with trackir 5, mine is a 3.

But SCS need to fix it for the best solution.

@alonzam99

Thanks for the report, I have just fired up that version to test it myself!
Let's see if we can find a solution ourselves or maybe stir up some action
on the SCS forum later!

Hey BenganJ,
I do NOT have ReShade installed (as far as I know; I've opened up my programs & apps page on windows, cannot find ReShade anywhere)
I used the multimon config file as linked in the first post. Single monitor. :)

Also, the global config.cfg file is located in My Documents, yes?

Okay, you say you don't have ReShade installed, but I'm not sure that it will be listed in the usual place,
so please, can you check at the following path or wherever you have Steam installed that you DON'T have
a file called dxgi.dll.

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2\bin\win_x64
Regarding multimon_config.sii file it should be placed at the same place as your config.cfg file. Is it there?

In config.cfg, do you have these settings?

Code: Select all

uset r_multimon_mode "4"
uset g_menu_aa_limit "8"
All this is important to have it all working as intented!

@BenganJ

All good, thanks for your help! It wasn't necessary; I just deleted config.cfg (while backing up my entire My Docs/ETS2 folder of course), opened the game once to generate a fresh config.cfg (changed in-game settings to those recommended), closed the game, edited the config.cfg files to recommended settings, saved, opened the game again. Voila!

This seems like an easy fix for a very annoying problem lol. I was seeing quadruples when I opened the game to create a fresh config file - and then I remembered I hadn't edited the multimon mode setting to 4 :)
