I checked it on a Japanese site, but it is a setting related to shadows.
When you look at the recorded video, the shadows look natural. (There are few flickering shadows of leaves)

@clear F1

Yes, that is correct. Ambient Occlusion is about lighting and the shadow generation.
The shadow handling in ETS2/ATS has been pretty bad, so this will make it better! :D

============= Dear friends! =============

I have a confession to make! I have NEVER, NEVER, NEVER had a graphics with such a high
quality in this game! I thought, that we had it already in DX9 with NPI, but this is so much
more gorgeous and with so high quality that I am stunned! PERIOD! I don't give a damn if it
rains in the cabin or that the mirror quality only can be set at LOW. And if you remember
correctly, I had almost given up when SCS dropped the support for DX9 and only offered a
very low quality kind of antialiasing called SMAA. Now I'm so glad we have reached this high
level of quality for these games, ETS2/ATS! I sincerely recommend you to test the present
settings listed in the first post! ENJOY!

@Road Runner

Mate, from the above you can understand that I am forever grateful for your participation
in this project! You have really made the project progress in the correct direction and made
the important and significant steps in the progression of the project! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

@All of you who have tested the different ideas on the way! THANK YOU TOO!

Here's the latest video I've made to illustrate what has been accomplished. ENJOY!
