[DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@clear F1
I have now tested setting resolution to 2715x1527. Rain in cabin stops and also we can set Mirror Quality to Low, that is correct,
BUT we also lose the AA totally, so that is sadly NOT a solution to our problems with anomalies! :( :( :( :evil: :evil: :evil:
EDIT: Yes my friend, that is how it is!
EDIT2: It seems as if a multiple of the native screen resolution is used, we get proper AA and anomalies.
Odd resolutions, not a multiple of native resolution, get rid of anomalies, but gives NO PROPER AA! :( :( :( :evil: :evil: :evil:

I think this is what I noticed quite a while back, when I tested the first digit in the compatibility pattern, the 8
for other values. Then I think I mentioned that it had something to do with DSR. No, sadly this is no solution to
any of our anomalies either! Pity!
EDIT: BTW, is it not time for you to sleep now my friend? :D

I never got an answer to this question!

@BenganJ
Sorry Mr B, At the moment I suggest two options to be tried:
1. 0x000E0000(CRYSIS3) - in my opinion best
2. 0x00000032(FIFA14)
If there are problems running then you can always throttle back from a Hiigh Quality setting to a lower one.
Set one of the above flags in NPI Ambient Occlusion compatibility
In NPI Common:
Ambient Occlusion setting: High quality or Quality or Performance or High Performance (dependant on PC performance but try High Quality first)
Ambient Occlusion usage: Enabled
Personally I use option 1 at High Quality setting together with ReShade Smart Sharp (default settings). In game settings everything set to maximum (except mirror quality) including ULTRA for shadow quality.
If you are using the lower 4 and 4 setting for AA, you may need to increase 8 and 8 with adjustment to LOD.
[Perhaps worth pointing out that Ambient Occlusion is all about light and shade and shadows - if you have shadows on low setting or off then no benefit will be gained from an AO setting! Results will depend on your PCsetup and also your monitor. In addition of course to what you may see and like on screen.]

Mate, I know about the settings and what AO is about, no problem there,
but what I don't know, is how you have come up with the now two values
you have posted. The Guru3D page about AO says nothing about ETS2 or
ATS and for Crysis they only list other values, admittedly only for DX9.
So, where do you get your values? Have you tested all those values
already listed in NPI?
Do you REALLY mean that those compatibility patterns should be put in Antialiasing compatibility (DX1x)????
I assume you meant Ambient Occlusion compatibility instead, otherwise I will stop with this project! Just kidding! :D
EDIT: I tested the new pattern, 0x00000032, and that one suited me very good! :D The main reason was that I didn't have to remove
ReShade at all, I could even use my beloved Smart_Sharp as usual! :D The graphics is definitely enhanced and sure, at parts of the
map I get FPS drops, but that is like I get normally too. I recorded a video with it, a job from Cardiff to Wexford on my PM combo.
Here you can see what it looked like. Normally I don't publish my videos with overlay machine data on screen, but this time I thought
it would be proper. ENJOY!
Ambient Occlusion compatibility: 0x00000032
Ambient Occlusion setting: High quality
Ambient Occlusion usage: Enabled

Re: [DX11] Help regarding Nvidia Profile Inspector (NPI)
@BenganJ
Thank you for spotting my deliberate mistake, Mr B. ;) I have now edited my post with the correction. :D
To answer your question 0x000E0000 was a flag that came to light some 5 or 6 years ago when Dx11 came onto the scene. At that time to getit to work involved editing a driver *.dll. It was only when I went to enter this flag that I found it was allocated to Crysis 3 in NPI.
The second flag 0x00000032 was identified as being useful in a number of games and therefore became the second flag I tested. As stated my preference was for the Crisis 3 flag. This could be that the AO in that flag is HBAO (horizon-based ambient occlusion) as opposed to SSAO (screen-space ambient occlusion) possibly used in Fifa14 flag. SSAO is the least demanding out of all types of ambient occlusion, whilst HBAO offers a higher-quality ambient occlusion but with a higher performance hit. There is also HBAO+ available which is a bit more demanding by today’s standards and only high-end GPUs are able to take full advantage of it.
I have carried out tests on a number of the other listed flags some produced dreadful graphic anomolies and some where working a massive and unacceptable hit hit to FPS. As I am replacing my computer fairly shortly I will defer further tests until the new one is up and running!
So pleased that you are able to run and benefit from the Fifa14 flag. For me AO makes the scenery look more real and greatly improved the simulation! :D
