Artem (the author of SR_map) in the cartographic archives found a really existing road connecting Russia and Georgia and originating not far from Dombai. In Soviet times, it was built for the rapid deployment of troops ... Its performance is currently unknown ...
Proceeding from this (it can be said from the submission of Artyom), I decided to make significant adjustments to the Russia-Georgia road junction. In the updated version, the road will start from the Northern Shelter (near Dombai), as it is in real life and pass through the pass to Georgia)))
At the moment, work on the update is almost at the final stage and testing and fine grinding is carried out)))

Folks, I have just had some very fun driving on the upcoming alternate road connection
between SRMap and YKSRSK maps by Sergey061 and I recorded the drive for you to see
how fun i had! In a way it looks like Dirt Rally with a truck instead of car!

Nice one Bengan, you drive like Wombat (not a compliment :D ). You are the only man who got a ticket beeing alone in the woods. And in the end i'm glad you discovered that great invention called "headlights". :D
About road connection, Sergey, my opinion, matter of personal taste, you may agree with me or not, no problem.
First, low-res vegetation, rocks and mountains close to the road make it look like TSM in older parts.
Some ascends are too steep, half of the trucks in game will remain blocked there. Not a good thing.
Some curves are beyond game capacity and the AI traffic will look funny bouncing trailers left or right ruining the game experience. A crash barrier will look nice from place to place.
Until reaching border point the road is curved because...? I didnt see a point to make it that way except for the reason it has to be curved. After border point looked more natural.
It's fun and easy to make a curved road with trees left and right, but without a pause, a straight segment to let the player to see other things, maybe a panorama, a nice landscape, some villages, it looks loooong and it may became boring.
For me it was, just looking at the video.
The same goes for the forest road. Nice one until became repetitive and endless. For a forest road it's quite good to drive on. You had some twisted parts and elevation, but you prefered to make it long instead of hard.
Dont get me wrong, i like your work and you have a hand for editor, but you tried too hard to fit many kilometeres in a small space. If it was more diversified (curved vs. straight) and just half distance, i would like to use it.
But it's just my opinion and it may be different than other people taste. In the end, having more than one option it's great.
I'm not using sugar when i speak my mind, Bengan knows that, and please take this words in a constructive way. Great work and have fun making it greater.

In the years of my youth, in the 80s of the last century, I traveled annually and extensively along the Black Sea coast, the roads of Georgia, including the Georgian Military Road))) ))
I understand that I did not quite succeed in conveying the spirit of the mountains, but I tried to convey my feelings))) Besides, on the video recorded by our 'reckless' for some reason I didn’t see the final version of the mod (although I gave a link to it , with corrections made to it. In some places, I reduced the turn radius, added barriers, removed the errors found ...
And most importantly, this mod is my first job of this magnitude. That is, I used to work in the editor, but only corrected errors and was not engaged in construction))) In a word, this mod can be said strength test)))

В годы моей молодости, в 80 годах прошлого столетия, я ежегодно и много путешествовал по черноморскому побережью, дорогам Грузии, включая и Военно Грузинскую дорогу))) И, знаете, очень хорошо помню эти горные серпантины, ползущие фуры и закипающий двигатель моего автомобиля)))
Я понимаю что мне не совсем удалось передать дух гор, но я старался передать свои ощущения))) К тому же на видео, записанное нашим "лихачём" по непонятной для меня причине я увидел не финальную версию мода (хотя я и давал на неё ссылку, с внесёнными в него коррективами. Местами я уменьшил радиус поворотов, добавил барьеров, убрал найденные ошибки...
Ну и самое главное, данный мод моя первая работа такого масштаба. То есть я и раньше работал в редакторе, но только исправлял ошибки и не занимался строительством))) Одним словом, данный мод можно сказать проба сил)))
