Of course if it was just there two cities we wouldn't react this way.
It is also what has happend behind the scenes.
We have previously made agreements with them, which they are now disregarding. Promods has shown itself to be an unreliable partner.
Now it's these 2 cities. What comes next?

What Promods currently lacks is vision.
Their work is slowly being nullified by SCS. And what's more, they are really slow with their work. By the time something is ready, SCS is ready too. Promods therefore has no business in Europe, except for some areas on the outside of Europe such as Iceland.
Their goal to further develop in Russia has also come to a halt by putting HOR on Hold. So I'm also curious what they will do with their Kazakhstan project now.
They also do not want to do work in Russia because of the situation in Ukraine. So what's left when you look further? Precisely! The Middle East and the Caucasus Region. So the more I think about it the more this is a conscious action by Promods!

At this point is our position. We know what Promods exist but will no longer be working with them and will do our best to ignore them and work around them. Of course, we will not lose sight of the interest of the community

I have no idea of mapping but a friend told me that making a connection so RSM users can have RSM citys is not a big problem and can be done fast. So wheres the Problem then?

Can just not everyone work where he wants?
I will definetly stay at RSM because I like the style but I dont see any problem if ProMods wants to make these citys too for their users. We have to accept that not everyone wants to play TM or ProMods. Just let everyone map where he wants and decide what he wants to play.
I really would like to use a combo without Promods but this statement from Terramaps really confused me.

I think Olaf's text was misunderstood, he meant if anyone in general messes with us that would require legal action we do indeed explore that route. Luckily we never had to, usually a warning, conversation, or even a misunderstanding clarification is all that is needed and this is usually with mod resharers. Of course there is absolutely no legal avenue or even thoughts of legalities, unless ProMods suddenly states that we cannot publish RSM because it uses ProMods assets in it, and we'd simply agree as they would be right and we'd have no choice but to respect that, as that is not a legal battle we'd wanna go down or even waste time and energy on. But to clarify, Olaf was speaking in general for people who tend to poke us from all different directions.

The truth of the matter is RSM is a dependency of PMME as it is right now and RSM uses ProMods assets, which they allow a generic permission to use for all mappers as long as it is clear it requires PM or PMME and is an addon, which we have been doing all this time. Olaf said everything else needed to be said for now, but we do not know RSM's fate until PMME releases and we can analyze how much damage is done and how much workload will come with it. The "best" worst case scenario at this point would be we simply carry over their old Eilat sectors in as we've been doing and RSM users will notice absolutely no changes to that entire area. But all it takes is promods to simply rename a "def file id" or "terrain" and the entire map is broken with UID errors, which they have done with a sign we used 175 times in 1.43 or 1.42 I don't remember. Being a dependency sure does suck ....... so nevertheless, whether or not RSM 1.44 happens, we will be slowly moving and replacing promods assets and RSM content into RTA and Road to Africa to break complete dependency from promods.

And as the RoEx community always stands by us, we at TerraMaps will always stand by RoEx, it's team, it's community, and our beautiful friendship we've always had here!
